For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

Which crossover did you prefer and why?

What series would you like to have seen crossed over with MPI?

I preferred S&S by a mile. There was humor, adventure, intrigue, and Morgan Fairchild! I also liked the S&S show.

I did not care for the MSW show or its characters. Also, the guest cast for Novel and Magnum on Ice was horrible. Those were irritating and largely uninterresting characters.

Thanks,

Luther

Simon and Simon for sure.

Plot was interesting to say the least, there was adventure and it seemed like a "Magnum" episode.

"Emeralds Aren't a Girls Best Friend" tied into the events of "Ki'is Don't Lie" nicely, plus we get extended Higgins action.

Having "Ki'is Don't Lie" stand alone works. Can't really say that about "Novel Connection". How would it have ended? Who did it?

Plus, in the MSW crossover, Magnum was really pretty childish (and not in the usual "good" way), the characters were annoying, and the story was just DULL.

It was like watching a quilting bee. The only thing that redeems this one (slightly) is the successful execution of the "Karate Chop Of Doom" in "Magnum On Ice".

Sorry, just do NOT like this one at ALL.

I agree that the Simon and Simon crossover was better. I always thought that was a better show than MSW so that may have something to do with it.

I'd vote for Simon & Simon as well, but I also am not a fan of either show or the crossover episodes. I seem to recall when the Murder She Wrote episode was being filmed, there were reports that Tom Selleck was going nuts with all of the delays caused by the constant makeup applications to the ladies. Whenever I see either the MSW episode or the Magnum, PI episode ("Magnum on Ice" is the ONLY reason I would ever watch MSW) I try and see if TS seems a bit agitated........

Steve,

I actually think he IS agitated, because his mannerisms are markedly different than from other episodes. (aka Magnum is really being kind of a jerk, which I don't believe we've ever seen before)

S&S no question. Never could stand Angela Landsbury, or Jessica Fletcher. Man, that Murder She Wrote show sucked, and it seemed to be on forever.
