Well he does always insist on being called a Private Investigator rather than a P.I.

Welcome to MM. If I'm not mistaken you seem to respond solely to the title of the thread. I recommend you read through the thread postings for more info.

Mark, i will refer back to this particular question you asked in my next message, though, in the appropriate episode thread. This will be also an opportunity to give my advice concerning Taylor's mental status.

Hello Mark, at the end of my analysis below "Last Page" Episode topic, i was only answering back to your previous question: "[...] I am particularly interested in your sense of TM's distrust of Taylor. When did you feel it? ".
... and I must admit that I did not find any a priori distrust on the part of magnum, in the end...

Re: Reason why TM goes by Thomas not Tom
My understanding from you is that in the cemetery, at their first meeting, Taylor sensed distrust from TM, so strategically Taylor called TM “Tom” as to narrow the social distance. Other than the fact that meeting in a cemetery is a bit strange, is there any other reason for TM to mistrust Taylor? Because Taylor is a friend of TC’s wouldn’t that counter any misgiving TM might have?Gorilla Mask wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 6:41 pm Hello Mark, at the end of my analysis below "Last Page" Episode topic, i was only answering back to your previous question: "[...] I am particularly interested in your sense of TM's distrust of Taylor. Re: Reason why TM goes by Thomas not Tom
Going through a series re-watch and two episodes he introduces him self as "Tom "Magnum". "Lest we forget" and "Curse of the King Kam Club".
That reminds me of the time....

Re: Reason why TM goes by Thomas not Tom
Thanks for the heads-up note, esp. as it proves the point of this thread. Did you notice right before those instances, he self-introduces himself as "Thomas Magnum"? Sometimes "Tom" is used for strategic reasons. For new readers of this thread: "Thomas" is the name he goes by, evident by how his present network of intimates call him "Thomas." For strategic reasons, though rarely, he will use "Tom." @☨magnum.t., Thanks again.
