I'm going to be adding a 'Ringtones' section to the 'Audio' page, but I need some QA testing done first to make sure the specs on the .mp3 files work for most phones.
For those that are willing and able, please download these .mp3's and see if they work on your cellphone.
Nothing says you're a Magnum P.I. fan more than your cellphone ringing with Higgins shouting, "This is outrageous!... OUT-RAGEOUS!!"
If all goes well, I'll add a bunch of 'em to the site. Personal requests are welcomed.
Thanks

I've had the ringtone for a few weeks now but it's not the OE soundtrack. I'd prefer to be able to download the Mike Post version rather than the sorta-Mike Post version.
Great idea JJ! Can't think of any off hand but looking forward to hearing more as you upload them. Already have the opening theme as my ringtone - love it!
Actually, just thought of one - JJ, you've gotta give us one of the better Higgins "oh my God" deliveries! Would be perfect for an SMS/Text tone. His delivery in 'A Girl Named Sue' when he discovers the broken gun was a particularly good one that comes to mind.
This web page has a simple tutorial for converting them into an iPhone ring tone...which is what I would need, others probably as well. Apple's quite clever, but not clever enough!
"How fiendishly deceptive of you Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent."
Thanks JJ, actually I already use the technique Styles pointed to in that link to convert my mp3's to m3r's for ringtones (how I got the opening theme song for my credit).
I don't however know how to make an sms/txt tone for my iPhone - Styles or anyone tell me how to do it? I assume same process, but in the settings the tones you I make don't show up as a possible selection as message tones.
Hmmmm just did a bit of searching and it appears the only way to change SMS tones is by Jailbreaking the phone which I don't want to do. Oh well, looks like "oh my God!" will have to wait until Apple bring an update that allows customs message tones.

In short, it isn't really possible. The iPhone won't let you customize your sms tone beyond what comes as the phone. Pretty strange. My iPhone is jailbroken, but even then it's really difficult to change. You essentially have to access the iPhone's internal files (through ssh), find the existing files for sms ring tones and replace one of the files with the one you want (naming it the same).
So essentially, if you name OH MY GOD the same as "Chime," for example, when you choose Chime, it will actually be the new tone you uploaded.
There are tutorials on the net if you search, but it's really too much hassle for me.

Ok, I've added a 'Ringtones' section to the 'Audio' page, with 7 selections to start. Each file is in the 16khz, 48kbps, Mono format, so they should work on most phones. Each one also has an iPhone version (.m4r) for those that have an iPhone.
Let me know if you'd like to have something else added.

You absolutely ROCK, JJ!

Me too. That's some beautifully written Higgins dialogue right there!
I love the "Oh My God!" ringtone. That particular selection smacks of absolute fury! Something I notice about it though is that Higgins sounds a little more American in it than British (maybe it's just me?). The way he says "God" in this sample unusual - more "GAWD!" rather than his typical "GOWD!"
