The members on here never cease to amaze me! I certainly wouldn't consider anyone knowledgable in Art and/or Literature a nerd Dan, but instead very well schooled and a candidate for Jeopardy.........LOL!
I made a note of this painting being used in Hawaii Five-O (thanks to Rick Romer and Sam) and recently got the disc with How to Steal a Masterpiece on it. In the episode the Gauguin painting Fatata Te Miti is stolen from the private gallery of Charles Ogden, who lives in this Kahala home, which was also used in Magnum P.I. This episode features the home extensively. How to Steal a Masterpiece aired in late 1974, so sometime between 1974 and 1980 Mr. Masters likely purchased the Picasso directly from Charles Ogden.
Yep, the club was "The Belvedere Club" from The Elmo Ziller Story (2.21). It's all in the guide!
Sam, it really helps to have screenshots of Magnum P.I. paintings. I especially wouldn't have recognized the second painting with the cloud that looks like a jumbo jet.
Anybody know if the last two are famous paintings?

Indeed, but all I had to work with was an overhead shot of a house. From just that, I had no idea what episode it was in. Many Kahala houses found their way into Magnum episodes.
I'm going to see if I can find somebody who can ID those paintings. Off to the Art Forums I go!
I happened across the painting of small boats in another Hawaii Five-O episode, Sing a Song of Suspense ( 8.8 ). It aired in late 1975, about a year after How to Steal a Masterpiece, mentioned in my prior post.
This time it showed up in a Los Angeles home. This painting must have been a reproduction of the original in Charles Ogden's private gallery.
Both pics are from season 10..The first pic.."Angel in Blue" turns up at SunHala. The second pic is shown 2 weeks later in "Invitation to Murder".This time it turns up at Sidney Dillinger's pad.
