What is the SINGLE worst episode of MPI?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

I agree, Carmen. But the thing that saves "Two Birds" for me is that little niggling feeling they both have throughout the episode that they KNOW each other. And then when it finally comes together in Thomas's mind at the end...I LOVE it!!

I can certainly see why a series didn't spin off, though. That story was a no-win situation with no where to go. It would have been an endless loop. Maybe Hunter would have had similar adventures but the wife and son always waiting at home would have been an excruciating disappointment.

Just my opinion...

Gotta agree with Carmen on "two birds of a feather". It starts off great but after TM disappears that's it for me.

I'd already mentioned 'Mixed Doubles' and 'Paradise Blues', but I'd also like to throw into the mix

THIS ISLAND ISN'T BIG ENOUGH (s6) - terrible episode with deeply unfunny guest character

NOVEL CONNECTION (s7) - Pointless cross-over... one of the worst cross-overs, of any show, ever

A GIRL NAMED SUE (s8 ) - it's supposed to be a comedy, but is about as funny as toothache

If I had to pick one single weakest episode,it would be 'This Island...', simply for featuring such a weak, unfunny guest character that it is toe-curlingly bad to watch!

Would have to be Two Birds of a Feather for me as well. Just finished watching it as I'm going through the seasons again and just can't stand it. Started out well enough, but didn't like the whole Texas story line.

PS Hi all! My first post here, great site and some handy info. on site locations for when we head to Oahu next week - can't wait to check out the Anderson Estate and a few other places.

You sure picked the right site for Magnum info and ESPECIALLY if you're headed for Hawaii! Rubber Chicken's location guide is STUPENDOUS!!

Hope you have a great time...and that you'll post again when you get back so the rest of us can drool over what YOU got to see!!

I'm GREEN with envy!!

Aloha!

I never cared for Going Home. I can understand why Magnum got as far away from Virginia as possible.

I vote for the one with Waldo in it. (I can't remember the name of the episode) :)

Pleasure Principle was pretty bad. It was supposed to be humorous, but it came off as lame.
What was up with Mac's ghost becoming extremly obeses in a matter of seconds? Was Magnum tripping on acid, or did the coma mess up his brain for a little while?
I just don't give a damn!

Tricky, this one... I like even the episodes that I know are pretty bad!

But I'm going for "Paniolo"... I just don't like the cowboy genre.

"Mixed Doubles" is also one I'd avoid watching again.

from what i've seen in the series so far, LA. It feels disjointed, weird and hard to follow. only one i've ever turned off.

The great adventure company, that got a mention. I had to admit it felt "off". I think the intent was to sort of show magnum trying to get things together but failing and the effect falls pretty short. it feels like they tried to make it funny, but it really wasn't. it would have worked better if they focused more on magnum's struggle to change and find purpose in his life in contrast to his friend's happiness with the status quo.

I think that's a point in life allot of people could identify with and if written better, it could have been a memorable episode.
