OK. I attempted this and my result is less than satisfactory. What is the easiest free way to make an animated .gif?

This is from A.I.P.I. (season 7). It is when Tracy Spencer knocks on Magnum's hotel door, Magnum opens it to find Spencer who yells, "Magnum!" and Magnum promptly shuts the door.

I just downloaded an old video trimming program (because I'm used to it) called Windows Essentials "Movie Maker".

Trim the vid that way.

Sorry, but I don’t think it works. It’s not “physical” enough so it just seems like someone comes to the door and tells him something and he goes back to what he’s doing. I think the audio is what makes the scene so good. Hate to be a Debbie Downer.

My intention was to have it say, "Magnum!" in print at the bottom when the door is open, but I could not figure out how to do that. I could only have text throughout the entire .gif, not at a specific spot.

I'm just now wrapping up my first full viewing of the series and I thought I'd share some of the GIFs I've been making along the way. Most of these come from a 1080p Blu-Ray source and are pretty big as a result.
