I'd go for the '84, but in truth I love them all!

Can anyone tell me... is the '79 version the same one used by Dean Martin and Sammy Davis in the film "The Cannonball Run?"

Bit late to say, but I got seasons 6 and 8 to complete my set! :D
(Region 2, so I don't know what's been missed out...)

I was holding out for a Detroit Tigers cap, but no one came through for me. :(
Maybe I'll have to wait for my birthday...

Very pretty girl... I've not seen her act but she's definitely "Lily-material". :D

I'm afraid I don't know, but I do know that at the climax of "Missing Melody," Higgins did say something like: "It's early, but I'm going home for a drink... the sun must be setting somewhere in the world".

Good old Higgy... that's my philosophy!

Happy New Year!

I'd not seen that before. Fabulous! Thanks so much for putting it up!

Though I suspect any film/TV montage would look great with the "Magnum, PI" theme behind it?

Re: A Crazy Magnum Movie Proposal from New Member

I've thought about contacting Universal, but even if I did, no one would listen to me. "Not marketable," they'd say. Or "You're crazy," which, of course, I am. Hi, Diamond Head. Love the idea! (Fine line between craziness and genius, you know.) There was all that talk about the Magnum/Quantum Leap ...

Wonderful!

I have to confess, if you'd never seen MPI and read that list, you'd think the show was utter nonsense!

Not an easy one, as I like all the episodes, even the ones I think are a bit rubbish. Magnum and co are like a big family... you'll watch it for them, no matter the quality of the story! But if there's a list of the ones I'd watch last if at all, it would probably be so: 1. Paniolo 2. Kiss of the Sa...

Don't know if this helps, but Lady Ashley says "tres amusant, Jonathan" to Father Paddy during the dinner scene in "Echoes of the Mind Part 2", when she thinks he is Higgins in disguise.

In first place is "Faith and Begorrah"... the further revelations about Higgins' father were a delight.

"The Elmo Ziller Story" came a close second... though I'm not a big cowboy fan myself.

"Who Is Don Luis" was a little thin, but I greatly enjoyed Hillerman's accent - and indignation!

I'd go for Jim "Mac" Bonnick. There would've been lots of scope for the character, plus I think Jeff Mackay would have made a charming lead. Plus he seemed to know most of the supporting characters from MPI. The question is, would it feature his "wife", Katie Beckett, sister of Quantum Leap's Sam? O...

Tricky, this one... I like even the episodes that I know are pretty bad!

But I'm going for "Paniolo"... I just don't like the cowboy genre.

"Mixed Doubles" is also one I'd avoid watching again.

Season 7, I think, edges it for me. There seems to be (mostly) a succession of strong stories centred either on growing up or on loss and grief (like Death and Taxes, Little Girl Who, Paper War, Autumn Warrior, Solo Flight, Forty, Laura, Limbo). I think it's the most rounded season, thematically - y...

Nice to see your lists, James and Commandress. A lot of yours were on my shortlist too. (Except Commandress, I did consider 'Solo Flight', but could never take it over the original 'Home From the Sea' ) "Home From The Sea" would have been number 11 (!) It was edged out because I actually saw ...
