Re: River Kwai bridge getting smashed

Hello all... first post here! I am trying to remember an episode where people at the estate were being held hostage by bad guys. It is not "The Big Blow." All I can recall is JQH in the study and the chief baddie making him watch the smashing of the River Kwai bridge and a photo of Queen Elizabeth....

Re: Was Higgins a US Citizen?

UK / US dual citizenship is allowed. My oldest brother was born in Cheltenham and now resides in Cocoa Beach. He is a naturalized US citizen and has retained his British citizenship. I was born in Ireland and am a naturalized US citizen. I also hold dual citizenship. I can’t imagine a world where H...

Re: Need military history experts

Wiki says, "The award was created on 28 December 1914[7] for commissioned officers of the substantive rank of Captain or below and for Warrant Officers." Is an RSM considered a warrant officer? I seem to recall it is.

Re: Need military history experts

Wow...great job... could that medal ribbon be the Military Cross?I found this.. The one I posted is white purple white.... can't tell if yours is blue or purple. https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/medals/military-cross You are probably correct. The screen grab is blue, and the images I found for ...

Re: Need military history experts

I've certainly learned a lot this morning. The Wikipedia link above and a little more research has led me to the following conclusion. There are eight ribbons on the ribbon bar, in two rows of four: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4724/25337451887_3afc71200a_m.jpg I believe these are as follows. Corr...

Well, they had Rick driving a Mercedes. Can't have too many of the same thing, I guess!

Need military history experts

Can anybody tell me any info about the insignia on Higgins' old uniform? Here are a few screen grabs from "Memories are Forever." Not very clear but the best I could get. Sleeve. I know the stripes represent a sergeant major. What would the little pin be? It's metallic but I could not make out the s...

Re: Echoes of the mind Higgins study song?

Hey, I found another one by Jane Morgan, with a third verse! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xw2UPs3ZQg

And Debbie Reynolds, a bit different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE4R1xNqykM

And this is the military version but it deserves to be seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyiEB4zANsE

OK, not as good as I had envisioned it to be when I was going through it in my head, but it is what it is, I guess. :D Higgins Rap. Re: Echoes of the mind Higgins study song?

Well, I was going to create a new topic for this, so I'm glad I found this one. I absolutely adored that song and have done a lot of searching on it. It is indeed called "Bless 'Em All" but the version we hear Higgins playing is not the version that is easy to find. The lyrics are entirely different...

Re:

I doubt he was a US citizen. I rememebr in the pilot ep. he said to Magnum not to put ice in his whiskey..."I'm not a bloody American!" I may have it slightly off but that what I'm remembering. Higgins may not have been a U.S. citizen when he made the "I'm not a bloody American" comment, but that d...
