I was going back and forth on Steve's parents and went with his mother because Steve (being 5-0, Navy etc.) would've most likely wanted a final viewing of his father, crime scene photos,DNA, etc.. I also thought that the guy who killed (or didn't kill/faked)Steve's father could've told Steve when they had that knife fight in jail, as it appeared Wo-Fat was coming for him and he knew it, so why not blurt out your father is alive...... Steve was too young when his mother died to view photos, dead bodies etc., so it seems more plausible for it to be his mother. Steve's father was also on the hunt for something regarding Wo-Fat and mentions Shelbourne to Wo-Fat at the Governor's meeting. Soooo, Steve's dad is after Wo Fat for the death of his wife and Steve is after Wo Fat for the death of his father and mother. The common denominator being the killer (W.F.) and Steve's mother and I'm getting a headache. :? I like a complicated plot, so I'll go with this one, but it could easily be his father with Joe doing the leg work until Wo-Fat is brought to justice........

Steve's sister has been out of the picture for awhile......hmmmm...NOT!
I could see her being brought back for some tie in (supporting role) for one of their folks being alive, but she is no mastermind (Shelbourne..)!

If Chin's wedding was the last episode before Christmas (not sure yet), my theory about Steve and Lisa under the mistletoe is shot, so my back up theory is a New Year's kiss...... The scene with Lisa and Danno in handcuffs threw me a bit, but I'm still thinking it will be Steve and Lisa together....sometime in the near future  .

Looks like that was the last new episode of this year. Next Mon, they re-air an ep from last season, and the next two Monday's follow a holiday.

I seem to feel that Wo-Fat will be around for a long while. To see him brought to justice, or killed off would not be in the best interests of the series. He is that elusive ruthless character who can turn up at any moment, then vanish just as fast. I see him as a big player in 5-0

Don't know how long the character Joe will remain in the series but one has to wonder if he will, sooner or later, be killed off by either Wo-Fat, or someone like the man who was looking for him this week.

Another theory...how long will Chin's new wife be in the series? May be not for long! We shall see!

Love the series and look forward to Monday nights!

I agree that Wo-Fat is a major character and will be with the show until the very end (just like the original). He could still go to jail and then be let out on some technical error or bribe etc which would only make Steve more upset and eager to get him yet again! It would be similar to Magnum and Kwan going at it on and off during the series with Kwan (not sure on the spelling) even being arrested, but quickly getting out and then killing Michelle...etc, etc. I think we will have some interesting storylines with Steve and Wo-Fat in the years to come!

Lily, yer right. I think Chin's wife will be a sacrificial lamb. look at the expeditious manner in which they brought her into play. I mean basically no character development save for a few perfunctory scenes.

My feelings are no one is safe on the show other than the original four (Steve, Danno, Chin-Ho and Kono). I agree Wo-Fat will be around until the end and they will keep around Kamekona (shaved ice guy) and Dr. Max for their comic relief. Everyone else is expendable (especially it seems the females)...................

Got my box set of season one from Amazon and have so far watched the first six episodes. Must say, really enjoying it!

Good show with developing characters, great action including somewhat out of regulation procedures to get results, all set amongst beautiful Hawaiian location, many of which I can recognise.

Looking forward to more seasons to come...

What is everyone's take on Max's character? I find him too over the top and they should tone him down - I think they are trying to do the same thing that they did on NCIS with Abbey, but Max isn't pulling it off as good.
I think they get enough comic relief from the shave ice guy, who is great!

He should bring it down a few notches, you are right. too goofy quirky and a distraction for the show.Plus his name is totally unlikely and inappropriate. They had a jew ish doctor on the old 5-0. HIS Name was max bergman. This dude should have a realistic name. Glen Miyashiro. or something.

Personally I like Max, especially when he plays the piano! Given his profession, perhaps we should forgive his quirkiness?!
