I was just reading about Sledge Hammer last night in an old TV Guide. They said it was sort of a Johnny-One-Note show, but I disagree. It was really hilarious.
The Duke of Curl? Good stuff...
And as if it all came full circle, someone brought up Nurses yesterday which also starred David Rasche. I've seen that show but don't really remember it at all...

I got to know the creator of the show, Alan Spencer, years ago. He was the friend of a friend and a nice guy. Went to the premier of his feature film directorial debut back in the 90's. It was called Hexed, and was about a super-model who was also a serial killer! He definitely did dark humor and was very topical in his writing. He also did stand up and was a big Star Trek and Get Smart fan.

Re: Sledge Hammer!
My dad had taped the entire series off of TV during its original run and I remember watching them over and over when I was growing up. I bought him the complete series on DVD for Christmas a few years back and it's still funny as ever!

Re: Sledge Hammer!
Hi guys,
I loved this show. Interesting bit of trivia here, particularly since we are on JJ's MPI site. David Rasche who played Sledge Hammer also played one of the two nasty corrupt cops who framed Tom Selleck's character in " An Innocent Man " (1989). I always enjoy watching this film and don't forget it also features the great F. Murray Abraham.

Totally agree on this one Doc.
TS really displayed his acting abilities in this, at least in my opinion.
Up there with "Ike" as far as I'm concerned.
