Any reactions from kids you've raised?

#1 Post by T.Q. »

Fans of the new Series will hate that question.

My daughter is visiting me and a rerun was on last night.

She was like "what is this?".

I said the new "Magnum" I told you about [Scene was when "Higgins" was at the door].

We watched for 2 minutes.

She said "Ugh, it's got no charm. Just like every other show they make now".

Good girl! :)
Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

LOL

You’re gonna have some peace and quiet next year.

Doubt any of the “haters” will tune into season 2 at all.

You’ll have the episode discussion boards all to yourselves.

All three of you.

Well I will be watching. There will be a lot to mine from Mini Magnum, in a Mystery Science Theater way.
Plus like the original Magnum, there will be crossover episodes, you can bank on it, with Hawaii 5-0 at least.
And to be fair, the Mini Magnum fans have a point, if you can forget the original - you'd have to - there is a minimal
amount of entertainment to be had, and here and there a surprising high point. Like when at the end of one episode the
gang gives a specially equipped house to a handicapped veteran.
And Perdita as Higgins works for me, as apparently her background has very little resemblance to the original with his Victoria Cross
and war record. Plus give the producers credit for not even trying to imitate The Hillerman Touch, it would have been a big mistake.
So the character is new and there for Perdita to mold. And with her form however the mold turns out is fine with me.
Plus she is a good actress, the rest of the crew together aren't a patch on her. It looks like the producers were smart enough to
put much more of the weight of the series on her shoulders next season, apparently her and Magnum will be partners in a PI firm.
If you told me before the Remake I would ever have one positive word to say about it I would never have believed it, but I am now
a Perdita rooter. (But not, alas, in the Australian sense of that word. Cue Austin Powers "Oh behave")
