I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, even though I hate reboots. But the writers and producers had one job. One bleeping job. Do not ever have chemistry between Magnum and Shiggins. No romance. Nada. Let them be adversaries, then begrudging respect, then true friendship. Easy peasy.
It’s not hard at all people, but that tells me about the tired writing that will follow. Such an easy trope to seize and they pounced it like the lads chasing Magnum.
An Irate Doc
Please reconsider not watching the new Magnum. It will be the subject of so many remarks here that you will want to be able to pass on your own views.
Also, though it will no doubt rapidly go down the drain, it will still remain a reference point and subject matter 30 years from now in the Magnum Mania Universe when Conch Republican's and your grandchildren are posting how much the reboot stunk.
Just reprinting the most inane lines here from the latest episodes should make for entertaining posts.
For example, in a 1950's Superman episode, the unarmed Jimmy Olsen, Miss Lane and Clark Kent are surrounded by Stone Age, spear carrying primitive tribesmen on a undiscovered jungle island and as they are about to be perforated the clueless but seemingly pleased Jimmy proudly proclaims "let's show them we can
die like Americans"!
Um, you first, Jimbo.
Come Doc Ibold, come to the Dark Side of the Force. Watch the reboot, in your heart you know you want to.
