Mad Men

#1 Post by Danno »

My wife got me onto Mad Men.

At first I thought it was boring. Although beautifully filmed, it seemed slow... but it slowly grew on me and now we're eagerly awaiting Season 4 which premieres very soon. Got all three seasons on DVD.

Anyone else enjoy/hate/love/despise it?

Love it. Best show I've seen in years.

I wish they had more shows per season. But maybe that's part of their formula? Focus all their resources into just a hand full of shows each year. Whatever it is, it's great. Writing, acting and set decoration are all superb. I wonder if they could make such a show work for the early '80s? Something where they really nail down the aesthetic of period without going overboard and making it silly.
