The curse is over! W After a 108 yr. drought, the Cubs finally win the World Series Championship in a thrilling game 7!!!
Congrats to Steve and any other MM who call Illinois home!
A bit of trivia......the last two times the Cubs won the W.S. - 1907 AND 1908......both titles were won against.......the Detroit Tigers
The last time they were in the W.S. final before 2016 was in 1945 and they lost to.......you guessed it - the Detroit Tigers!
Wow........I was sweating that game out. A magical, mystical game, series and season for the Cubs. Perhaps it is a sign I will finally win the lottery and buy The Estate out from under Nesbitts nose.........
Magnum actually used the Cubs winning the world series in one of those "about as much chance as" analogies in an episode. I just don't remember which one.

Did you go to the parade? They were saying 5 million fans attended - AMAZING!
No, I didn't make the parade but I was able to watch the entire event on the TV. I was transferred to Chicago from Minneapolis in 1983 so I have seen the big parades Chicago had to honor the Viet Nam Veterans, the '85 Bears, the Bulls 6 championships, the 2005 White Sox and the Black Hawks. None of those came anywhere close to what I saw Friday morning, it was so fun to watch and I even shed some tears (I know, there is no crying in Baseball). WGN had to great sense to have their anchors keep quiet when the players busses hit Michigan Ave off of Lake Shore Drive, the noise was deafening! You know from 1988 to 1992 I lived in a 55 story building on the 48th floor and could see down into Wrigley. You can actually see this building over center field on TV and it would have been fun if I still lived there.............
