Selleck, Manetti & Mosley - Together Again!

#1 Post by J.J. Walters »

... In more than one episode of Las Vegas!

http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stori ... 56764.html
"We were all in the Marines together. I play a multimillionaire who wears tailor-made suits and owns 250 nightclubs and restaurants around the country, and Roger owns this mega-aviation company, helicopters."
According to Manetti, he and Mosley will have recurring roles during the upcoming season. He said the first show is scheduled to air Oct. 26 on NBC.

How cool is that! :D

Now this is REALLY exciting news! I can't wait to see this show now, with these guys back -- and particularly with TC and helicopters again (though I don't know if they'll have scenes with him piloting again -- I hope so!).

If only they could get Hillerman to come out of retirement for just one show, even in a cameo, like they pass him in the casino and he's sitting at a slot machine and looks up and at the camera after they walk past him, not seeing him. Wouldn't that be great???

But I find the timing odd, as I had read somewhere that TS was going to be shooting the fifth Jesse Stone "Thin Ice" in Maine in August 2007.

This is going to be great. :D Golf, your idea of having John Hillerman at least make a cameo would make it all the better.
The answer is obvious, old man. Logic is irrelevant. It's simply Tropical Madness. (J.Q. Higgins)

Selleck already has at least five (probably more at this point) LV episodes in the can. He's going to take a short break from LV to film Thin Ice, then it's back to more LV episodes. The guy's a machine! ;)

And as far as I understand it, they are filming in Nova Scotia, not Maine.

BTW, I just noticed that Camryn Manheim, one of my favorite actresses, is going to be in Thin Ice. Cool!

James,

And he stopped MPI finally because he was getting tired of the 80-hour weeks! Sounds as though he's now trying to "make hay while the sun shines." God love him! And more power to him. He does seem to be a touch "money conscious" -- a man after mine own heart -- I love money, personally! After good health, it's probably the most important thing to me (and Larry knows this and loves me anyway). But maybe you "can't buy happiness," but if I'm happy poor, I'd bet EYE could be happy rich!

I bet Camryn isn't playing Sunny Randall! But I agree she's very good, but I lay odds she's not going to be JS' "love interest." "Thin Ice" should be interesting, as it'll be the first one not based on a RBP book, but I bet he probably had a good hand in the plot for the screenplay at least. But I find it a good sign that "they" aren't waiting for RBP books just to make another JS movie. A good sign, I think, hopefully. James Garner, one of TS' idols, successfully made TV shows and movies for 40 years so hopefully our TS will be doing the same for another 15 at least.

P.S. James, I put "Thin Ice" in quotation marks due to:
Use quotation marks when you want to quote or show the titles of short stories, novellas, articles, chapter titles in books, poems, television shows, songs, and papers that you write.
Use italics or underline to show the titles of books, magazines, newspapers, plays, art masterpieces, and long musical compositions.

How fun! Go Tom for getting the guys together again after all these years! You gotta love it! I am really looking forward to this show now!

I do wish Hillerman would have come out of retirement just for a day to do a cameo! The more MPI reruns I watch-the more I love the Higgins character. I miss him! Heck, William Shatner is the same age as Hillerman and he's still going strong. And look at Tom...he's the busiest guy on the planet!

Now, I really can't wait till the fall season. Definately must see TV! :D

They just need to have TS walking through the casino and accidentally spilling a drink on Hillerman, and he does the famous "OH...MY...GOD!"

That would totally do it for me!

Or, if they can buy the rights from Universal to use the audio clip of the "Oh my god" line, they could have TS do something offbeat and we just HEAR the OMG as if from an off-camera speaker and then TS starts whipping around looking for where the voice came from, never finds anything, and then HE looks at the camera. . . pause . . . . Cut!

Well, we're certainly entertaining ourselves, aren't we?

Haha! I love how we invent our own story lines! If Hillerman won't be in it, I at least think Tom should do his famous "camera look" at least once!

Who knows... since the guys are planning to be in multiple episodes, maybe Hillerman will see that first episode- call Tom and say "count me in old boy"! That would be fantastic! You know Hillerman will be watching!!

How about this one, Golf....

Tom is walking thru the Casino and hears the "Oh, my God!", turns and sees it is coming from a "Magnum, p.i." slot machine, programmed with Higgins voice when a jackpot is paid out. Then Tom does his famous over the left shoulder turn into the camera and winks....

Outstanding scenario Steve! A good way to pay tribute to Hillerman/Higgins without actually having him there. :D

Access Hollywood interviewed Tom and aired it Tuesday night.

If anyone is interested, I found the video clip of that interview with Tom on the Access Hollywood website. The interview takes place on the set of Las Vegas. There is also a very brief clip of Tom with the guys--Roger and Larry while they are filming a LV scene. Just go to the Access Hollywood website and click on video and Tom will be one of your video choices. I'd post it here, but this whole computer thing is still a mystery to me!

My impression of Tom after watching this short interview-- He has got to be the most laid back, easy going guy in Hollywood.
