Magnum is associated with nothing but good things in my life - There are no bad memories attached to it.
Occasionally, as I'm sure all of you know, life can be stressful, and there's not much that's more relaxing to me than coming down to the studio, playing my cheesy soft-rock 70's Pandora station (Just heard "Have You Never Been Mellow" - Man, I love 70's era Olivia Newton John...) and browsing this wonderful site.

70's soft rock is one of my guilty pleasures, too. Time to que up Pablo Cruise's "Love Will Find a Way", Ambrosia's "How Much I Feel", Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", America's "A Horse with No Name" and Seals & Crofts "Summer Breeze". Aah... totally relaxed now.

Thank you for the kind words! As you might imagine, Drew's certainly one of my influences/inspirations....

No Magnum 2-dimensional stuff, only because I haven't had time.

I DO have this on the burner, though - It's not my work. I commissioned it.

Been waiting THREE years, but I think we're getting close.

It's 1/3 scale, so a little over 2 feet, in the sort of signature pose, with his weight on one hip and his hands on his hips...

Awesome stuff Walks. Did you post this earlier this year as well? I seem to remember a similar sculpture in the works, or perhaps I'm thinking of yours?

I'd love to get a copy made once it's finished if that possible/plausible...

That's a little too soft for my liking. A classic nonetheless!

Here's my all-time favorite '70s soft rock/pop song:

Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island"! I could have the absolute worst day at work, worst commute, worst dinner and worst evening ever, but as soon as I hear that song it all goes away and I have a giant grin on my face.

Jay Ferguson is actually one my favorite musical artists (unknown as he is to many). He was in Spirit, a great 60's psychedelic jazz/rock band, then Jo Jo Gunne, a great 70's rock band, then his excellent, brief solo career, and for the last 20+ years he's put out great movie scores. A great talent.
