Sorry that's not it.
try again,
also in this episode
a person taller than Magnum calls him shorty
might be the only time he was called that
TM's picture appeared in the local newspaper
This is a favorite episode of mine
Jillie liked to change her hair color in different episodes
In this episode her hair was black
I'm going to go out on a limb and say "Murder 101"?

Sophia....was it "Squeeze Play"...I'm thinking that it may have been "Killer" that called TM shorty....Who else appeared that was taller than TM?

You've got it.
How did you figure it out?
Jillie is the tap dancer trying out for the worm telethon.
I don't know why she is not credited for appearing in that episode.
I recognized her while watching.

The person who called TM shorty in this episode was a woman on
stilts. Actually she said HI shorty.

Your "performing" hint. For some reason, the telethon tryouts of "Fragments" popped into my head. I could easily picture Jillie in the background somewhere. ;)

... and here she is!

I'll keep the ball rolling....

What movie* is Magnum watching at the beginning of "Solo Flight"?

* The only footage you see is military fighter jets flying and crashing. You don't see any of the principal actors.

Herman, not so coincidentally, the name of the shark and "the one with the big eyes" in "Home from the Sea"

I received The Hunters from netflix the other day, after seeing it brought up here. Not quite a top notch movie but pretty solid and watchable, with a young Robert Wagner (and Mitchum of course) and good scenes - that must have been hard to take at the time - of Korean War era fighter jets. Kind of like a Top Gun of it's time. Thanks for mentioning it. :)
