How are colors boosted on different formats of MPI?

That second picture looks very similar to what I had. It had the knobs on the side and both line and low voltage cords.

Yep.

Edit: actually, it's a colour TV here in Canada.

I also seem to recall us having a B&W (ok, all our TV's were B&W) Zenith at some point. Dad probably found it somewhere. Don't remember how long we had it for. I think that's the one I used to have to bang on its side in order for the horizontal bar to stop scrolling. And also had to fidget with the rabbit ear antenna to make the snow on the screen stop.
