Ferrari of North America supposedly will certify the cars actually used in the show. I saw one years ago at a car show that JC Whitney throws twice a year. It was owned by a gentleman from Minneapolis that had all of the certification papers on display with the car, but I guess those could be faked if a person wanted to (the guy in the video seems like a wannabe "worlds most interesting man" to me)KENJI wrote:I found this 308 link that contains a quick video about a surgeon who supposedly bought one of the original cars used in the show....check out his lic. plate.

It seems to me that the http://www.2040-cars.com website is very dated.Well, this guy is selling a Ferrari gts 308 with that chassis number!![]()
http://www.2040-cars.com/Ferrari/308/19 ... 0l-572962/
I don't see dates on any of the ads and the market for 308/328 has recently exploded so none of the cars listed are at current asking prices.
The other thing I found was that the current owner, now in Tx, bought this car from someone in Va which is where the ad says it is being sold. On http://www.ferrarichat.com the current owner states many interesting things about the car. He was unaware that this was possibly a Magnum car, it was originally yellow (???), etc. Here is the link. Worth the read. Lots of interesting info including the article about the drive of the first 308 to LA to be used in a movie called "Don't Eat The Snow In Hawaii" http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-32 ... um-pi.html (Same link Sam posted but read the whole thing.) You will need to register to see pics though. Its worth it.

The "28251" 1979 Ferrari is back up for sale, now on Bring A Trailer!

Some of the auction commenters are skeptical of the documentation. One of the supporting documents provided by the seller is actually a selectively-edited portion of Magnum-Mania's "The Ferrari" page, leaving out the bit saying a 1978 model was used during the first season!

This shows a black interior. I have never seen anything but a tan interior in any MPI episode.Netsrak wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 4:37 pm The "28251" 1979 Ferrari is back up for sale, now on Bring A Trailer!

You got me, I'm the guy what heisted the info from "The Ferrari Page", trying to pass off a strategically reconditioned AMC Gremlin as TM's wheels. It was Ivan's idea, he said we could take the moola
and rent the King Kamehameha II for a jaunt around the islands with Digger Doyle and Buzz Benoit's "Buzzettes".

You know the last time I saw her namesake, we were up in Tarchello up in the Italian alps near Yugoslavia.
She was entertaining the troops and I was covering the Big Bang for old uncle Henry Lewis... It seems like yesterday about two hundred years ago.
