Magnum surprised?

#1 Post by My Pahonu »

Has anyone ever noticed in the opening sequence. The one where you always get that chill that makes you smile. When Magnum stops the Ferrari, the music changes, he takes off the targa top (by sliding it back by the way) and then pops the clutch and lets the turf fly. That's when he realizes something is not right. He looks at the road and a car comes flying by. You can tell by his reaction its not suppose to be there. Close call?

Has anyone else noticed the car? I had to pause and go frame by frame. There is no view cut so it had to be Tom in the car. Looks like a large brown sedan and Thomas was not expecting it to be there. It was filmed in the pilot so set security probably was not up to regular standards or he wasn't supposed to drive off. Just wondering if anyone else caught this.

You're absolutely right, there is a car driving by! I've never noticed that before. I made 3 screen grabs of it (not great quality). In the first you can see it through the Ferrari's windshield (or is it windscreen  ), then in the second pic it's in the very top left corner. The third screenshot shows T.S. looking that way just like you said. Good eye!

Thanks for the screen pics. I don't know how to do that. It would make a good question to ask TS. I bet there was a pretty big pucker factor when he looked up and saw that car. Here it is the pilot and he wrecks the Ferrari. Not good for the rest of filming. I bet he was a little pissed at that.

Hi My Pahonu! If you have a PC there's a "print screen" button on the keyboard...just click it and it takes a picture of what's on your screen. (If you're on a Mac or different device you can google how to do that part.) Once you have your screen pic, use an app like Paint to crop it, reduce/enlarge it, etc.. Save the pic to your computer and then upload it to a free image hosting site such as https://imgur.com.

If you want to post it on MM select the "image" button

and past the link from imgur in between the img brackets

Thanks for the info RG, I'll have to give that a try. It really adds to the post when you have the footage captured.

If you use VLC to play the DVDs on your PC, there is a "Take Snapshot" command under the Video menu. You can take snaps either while the video is playing, or you can pause and then advance frame-by-frame using the "e" key to get exactly the frame you want to capture. I'm rapidly filling up my hard drive with screen caps of "essential" shots.
