Anyone up for MPI trivia?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

Tral,

Know what, that DOES ring a bell now that you mention it, but I haven't seen that episode since MPI was on A & E in 2001.

Guess I'll have to wait til 3/4!

Ok,I have a question..

Name the two episodes filmed at the Hawaii Film Studio that were shot on the property but outside of the studio.

Edit to add....There was a scene in each episode on the property.

Good question, Sam. I don't know the answer, but I do seem to recall one episode that used the Studio as a Military base, with the guard shack at the entrance made to look like the entrance to the Base.......As a side note, I also recall another episode where they put a guard shack in front of the tunnel that goes into Diamond Head crater......

Clues to the question.

Season 5..The scene was a truck rental office.

Season 7..A fictitious TV station.

The episode involving the truck rental office, I think is "Torah, Torah, Torah."

Is the episode featuring a fictitious TV station "Out of Sync?"
The answer is obvious, old man. Logic is irrelevant. It's simply Tropical Madness. (J.Q. Higgins)

Good job on the truck rental office IH...Torah is correct.

Out of Sync is not correct.

IH...I saw your flub on the helicopters.I posted the N4943T number in the Mosley thread last year but this is the first verification of the number that I have seen posted..Thanks

N4943T was the second helicopter to crash. In the report,it crashed in an irrigation ditch so it makes me wonder if that was the video shown on TV.

It went down in May of 88 which was 2 months after the final filming of MPI.

Is the one with the TV station "Forty"?

Bingo Doc..Nice job.

Now if someone can screen cap it,you'll see the studio and the big overhead door is open and you can see the interior hanging lights.

Okay.

Island Hopper is excluded from this question, since he and I were PMing about it, but here goes.

(Sorry buddy)

In the episode "Squeeze Play", what positions did the 4 members of the gang play?

Bonus points if you can identify which member played TWO positions.

Why do I have a feeling this isn't as hard as I think and someone is going to nail this within the hour

TC was at First?

Magnum was at Short.

Rick was Catcher (I remember him wearing the mask) and I think plays pitcher later?

Higgins coaches Third (and IIRC tells Magnum to stop, though he doesn't and is Thrown out)

Thanks RC.
Just to clarify. The guard shack is not the one shown in the second picture, that is the visitors entrance.
It is the parking lot shack just beyond the Rolls.

I have a picture of the shack and TC's van that I took in March of 88,the final week or so of filming that I'll post when I locate it..

RC....In your first screen cap in the row of cars to the right of the Rolls,is that TC's van?

That is soooo cool, Sam! I totally missed that in the episode. That's "Five-O Stage"! Between HFO and MPI, hundreds of hours of classic scenes were filmed in that building! They recently built a new soundstage at the Hawaii Film Studio, so that building is now, apparently, used for storage:

Lost* filmed a (hilarious) scene in front of this building last season:

getting pumped up for tonight! ;)
