I just saw this on Wikipedia and thought I'd confirm it with you guys..

I love Quantum Leap, but haven't watched it for years - This is a particularly good episode, though.

If you watch it, see if you can recognize another Magnum regular - (Hint: Magnum and this person DO NOT get along, although as time goes on, they begin to grudgingly respect one another....)

Thanks! I remember watching QL inthe late 90's in sindication but never saw this episode before.

Very happy that it wasn't a flub on wikipedia.

"Appeared" in the very loosest of terms. It's archive footage from "The Black Orchid". The episode is playing in the background on a TV set, but there is a closeup of the episode that runs for a good 20-30 seconds.

What's really great is the dialog between the 11-year-old girl who is watching the episode and her brother.

(Brother walks in and sees his sister watching Magnum on the TV set)

Brother: What do you see in that geek?

Sister: What are you blind? The man is terminally gorgeous!

Brother: He's a wuss.

Sister: Please. You have a major case of jealousy.

Brother: What? The guy talks like he's been sucking helium and he giggles like a girl.

Sister: The only thing that matters is that he's sensitive and he understands the needs of a woman.

Brother: And what makes you such an expert on women's needs, runt?

Sister: Knowledge by gender, jerk.

It was a bit disappointing to just see it on the tv in the background but hey still kinda cool. The way I read it from WP (and maybe it's my speed reading again) was that the character, JQH would make an appearance. Now THAT would have been cool!

The Soprano's had Magnum PI on a tv in the background in one episode! I've seen it on other shows also!

First episode of the classic "The Equalizer" with E. Woodward has a short sequence of the daughter of the terrorized mother watching an episode of Magnum P.I.

The Soprano's Season 4 Episode 1, "For all Debts Public and Private". Christopher kills the cop who killed his father. It happens in the cop's house, and on the TV, is an episode of Magnum PI! Someone took my season 4 DVD, so can't tell you which episode of Magnum it is!
