Also... going back to the 'Dukes', there was a Boss Hogg action figure, so maybe a Higgins figure wouldn't have been that odd after all!!
I actually have that Boss Hogg action figure. I would so love to have a Higgins action figure.
I fear this is about as close as we can come to a Higgins "action figure." Maybe we should contact the Mme. Alexander Doll Company and see if the company will make one for us.
We just need to find his safari outfit.
Oh, by the way, I did leg surgery on Rick. Does he need to be shorter than this?

You guys have unleashed some serious nostalgia here!
My best friend had the Magnum figure and car and while the figure was kind of "wimpy" in that he became "loose" after a short time and couldn't get it to stand up straight, so we always had him as some hapless dope who'd get shot right away--don't worry, he never was portreayed as Thomas Magnum!
The Ferrari was a rugged, solid toy. We were playing with our Star Wars action figures and had one of the admirals driving Princess Leia around in the car. I believe she was being kidnapped and the good guys (our own invented characters, even though they were Luke and Han or whatever) were in hot pursuit. That's my memory of the Magnum car.
You are right to sympathize with poor Rick. I fear I made War-Between-the-States battlefield tent amputations look humane compared to what I did to him. Alas, due to grotesque scarring, he is doomed to long pants forever.
That is . . . unless I decide to take a blow torch to his plastic legs in an attempt to melt the parts together and re-shape the plastic. Nannnhhhhh, better not do that or he'll end up looking like

Unfortunately, I think that a Higgins action figure, or variations thereof--navy blue blazer and tan pants or "safari suit khaki"--would have remained untouched in the aisles of toy stores much like the "Power Droid" did for Star Wars figures. While TM, TC, and Rick would fly off the shelves. Sad but true.

That's true. But today there are all sorts of nostalgic high quality action figures that cater to adults. I've seen action figures of anyone from Tony Montana to Sigmund Freud - surely Higgins with the lads would be of interest to quite a few consumers...
"How fiendishly deceptive of you Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent."
