Re: Longmire

Terry from Kerry, You wrote "I do like TS in Blue Bloods but would love to see him as the lead in a series like Longmire. TS always looks so natural in a western setting. Perhaps Jesse Stone might run for Sherrif in the next election on Longmire". Terry, that's brilliant, Jesse Stone on Longmire. Ca...

Re: Serious Series DVD Discount?

You wrote, "That was really cheap. The sad thing with most tv series is really the lack of good special features. I am talking about audio commentary with the stars of course. But also interviews, and maybe some behind the scenes footage. We rarely see that. How difficult can it be to bring in Selle...

Re: Longmire

The actor Robert Taylor who portrays Longmire is actually Australian. It really bugged me that I had seen him in some other tv show but I couldnt remember. So I looked it up and he portrayed the Aussie priest in the last year of Ballykissangel. He does a great job portraying an American archtype, on...

Re: Mad Buck Gibson (2.9)

Hi ConchRepublican, You wrote "I enjoyed this episode and understand Buck's decision, but I have always taken the other side on this dilemma. There's nothing manly about quitting". Neither I or the Magnum writers was talking about quitting, as Buck was already fated to take the mortgage out on some r...

Re: Mad Buck Gibson (2.9)

Hi Guys, What a great thread! As noted Buck was a Hemingway stand in, especially with his attitude to Death. Posters wondering why Magnum didn't "save" the already doomed Buck perhaps missed the point. Buck had finally defeated Death by embracing it on his own terms. Magnum understood that, and when...

Re: R.I.P James Garner

I read where Garner and Selleck became friends after Selleck's 2 appearances as Lance White on the Rockford Files. These are two wonderful episodes and well worth searching out, for all you Magnum fans, as they caused Hollywood to sit up and notice Selleck. In fact I recall the PR surrounding Magnum...

Re: The Absolute Worst Episodes

Hi Guys, I am relatively new here and have been treading lightly till I get the feel of the place. I don't think there is anything wrong with pointing out that some episodes, even if they might contain a scene fans really like, are badly done. It's impossible to produce a seasons worth of episodes w...

Hi Jay, I recommend you read James Garner's autobiography. Univers...

Tonite COZI tv will run its thursday Magnum bloc. At 11 pm it will run Basket Case. Last April when it ran it, the title appeared only it was billed as "Free Throw". I thought the young lead actress in it was terrific and tried to look up this episode to find more info which lead me to Magnum Mania...
