Re: COVID19 Protocol

I’m sorry to hear you feel that way. The only point I would make is that medical advances are the very reason we live to the extended ages we do today. As a history teacher I will simply say that the life expectancy just 100 years ago in 1920 in the US was under 55 years. Now it is over 75 years. T...

Re: Buying a Rolex or Chronosport

This is kind of off-topic, but it does show my Steinhart and Chronosport watches, and I thought some here might appreciate this. My collection, posted on WUS . Nice collection! I spotted your Chronosport first thing. Cheers! To The Regiment Thanks. I like it, and other than the Maen and Omega, I we...

Re: Tom is Awesome: A Story

Didn't know the 40th Anniversary Watch Party was still going. No one responded for quite some time so I stopped posting. Or just doing it on your own? I'll be watching "Faith and Begorrah" next week and I'll be done with season 3 40th anniversary. I'm a few weeks behind though. And then this fall I...

Re: Tom is Awesome: A Story

That's awesome. I liked your 4th wall notations.

Anyway, I'm nearing the end of my current viewing - I'm near the end of season 7. I'm in the middle of season 2 with my sons, and I've been following along with the 40th anniversary, so I'm really watching it three times at once right now :)

Re: Tom is Awesome: A Story

TQ -- you & your memes! Love them. lol Where do you get them all? Do you make them yourself? The gifs? No I just love gifs and find them. I make a lot of my own Magnum ones when I think one would be a fun gif though. https://media3.giphy.com/media/0pJHaSOuB9UkhCiVNP/giphy.gif You must know the seri...

Re: New Sea Quartz!!

If you like the Chronosport Sea Quartz 30, I HIGHLY recommend ordering one of these bad boys when they're back in stock. Thanks for the review - I have a Chronosport that I bought on eBay, and I like it, but I don't use it like a tool watch -- I don't submerge it or wear it while doing anything tha...

Re: COVID19 Protocol

I went back and looked at the beginning of this thread. It started THREE years ago. I don't mean the thread particularly, but this whole bullshit virus thing. "Do as you're told!" I'm just glad that many millions did not bend the knee. At the very start, we canceled all engagements. Two weeks? Sure...

Re: Fig Newtons

I seem to recall thinking the Trader Joe's ones were pretty good too, but yes, pretty much the only good ones are the Nabisco ones, and that's what I have in my drawer. I miss the 2-tube packaging. Now they come in a tray with a sticky "resealable" cover.

Re: Fig Newtons

Ivan, they used to be more moist. Agree they are very dry today.

But I still like and eat them. In fact, I have a package in my desk drawer right now. :D

Fig Newtons

I have question...

Anybody know if Magnum's preference for Fig Newtons was product placement, or if Tom Selleck liked (or maybe still likes) them?

I'm guessing it was Selleck's preference, because the beers on the show were the fictional Coops & Old Düsseldorf.

Anybody know?

Thanks for posting this. I really like Larry, and I enjoyed his book. Unfortunately I never heard back from my request to have my book autographed.
