Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
A not so subtle troll already snagged its first victim... LOL. It was easy given the bait (namely, Obama), but still... I mean, some bait (e.g. Obama, Trump, etc.) is just guaranteed to get a nibble. However, I agree with keeping things focused, so it's time for my blatant redirect to relevant thing...

MPI Mini-Marathon on 11/30
Encore Classics is doing another marathon on 11/30. They are doing four episodes:, 1.1, 1.2, 8.12, and 8.13. Itty-bitty marathon, but bookends of the series... So, after 11/30, they are restarting the series from 1.1, and going back to a single episode per day. Looks like the chaos and lack of conti...

Re: The John Hillerman Thread
I just went to look to see if there was a recent episode of Larry and Nancy's show, and there is. Dated 11/14. They start talking in earnest about JH in the second segment. The segment music lead-in starts about 5:55. Here's the link: http://crntalk.com/larrymanetti/ I hope it's a good listen. And.....

Re: The John Hillerman Thread
RIP, Mr. Hillerman. You know, from what has been shared of JH's life these last years, he might just say that he's glad to be free. By all accounts, his mobility and quality of life had declined. I hope that he passed with that satisfied look of a man with no regrets and a life well lived. I have n...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
It may be saved and renovated this way, but it is still a loss to the fans. If Obama lives there, no one will ever get to make the pilgrimage to the tidal pool. If it is a regular residence, the security would keep it off limits 24/7/365. Also, I don't think we'd ever see a reunion of the cast there...

Re: My heart stopped beating for a moment!
Though I believe they used the Elks/KKC location in the movie. They called it the "Outrigger Ocean Club", but the interior was essentially the same. The bar shape, the stone columns, and the room shape were anyway... I was not as sure about an outdoor scene they showed (GC chased his youngest daught...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Sorry to be posting so much, guys. Just saw this in the Pacific Business News: http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/news/2015/03/19/buyer-of-8-7m-former-magnum-p-i-estate-has-ties-to.html It says: Mary Worrall, vice president of List Sotheby’s International Realty, declined to reveal to PBN the ident...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
You want to check with the guy? All agents are bound by confidentiality, but maybe he'd give us some guidance...
Something like.... "Should fans of the show come see it soon-ish because of upcoming changes?"
Who knows, maybe the guy will make ENOUGH of a statement that we'll have an idea....

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
They may have delayed the second transfer so as to avoid it being reported, but maybe they failed? They may have intended that... After all, there is public interest in the place. They may have wanted it being publicized where Ms. Anderson's wishes were being obviously circumvented...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Some good news, though none of this is guaranteed, about the mortgage from the recent sale. The mortgage is very conventional in structure for a single family home. That means it isn't focused on the land, an imminent redevelopment of the land, or a MAJOR reconfiguration of the home, etc. I would sa...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Thought as much. Yeah, if they were borrowing money for new development/redevelopment, wouldn't they have to have the approval of the local historical preservation police? Also, they'd have any required approvals as a contingency in any loan. I presume that document recordings aren't public in Hawai...

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
That says a bit more.... That "extra" money in the loan COULD BE for renovations, and that intrigues me a little more than the name on the deed. Chances are, with the issues with the house, it was bought a little below market as most of the value was in the land. How much the house contributed or im...
