The episode was so-so but I thoroughly enjoyed the scene Magnum got to duke it out with the guy from the Allstate ads. Magnum had the upper hand this time! Yes indeed, it is Dennis Haysbert and I did not recognize his face at first but he has a distinct voice and seconds later I knew it was the All...

I was surprised at all the high ratings this episode got in the poll. This episode has an empty feeling and does not feel like a Magnum episode. No Higgins, no TC, no Rick, no Robin's estate, no lads, no Hawaii, no Ferrari, no humor, no attractive women, it just doesn't feel right. For some reason I...

Just watched this one again. A few things caught my attention. 1. TC is sitting in his car listening to the radio. It is none other than an imitation of the famous 80s American Sex Therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer who was a cultural icon at the time. Her limitless enthusiasm and having an accent only ...

Wow, I can't believe I didn't post this when I first joined the forum but the actress that plays "Sunshine", Susan Swift, was a friend of one of my brothers when they were in high school. I met her quite a few times and then she went off to do The Chisholms tv show. Any episode featuring Kathleen L...

It must be an Oahu thing why they have so many British people. After all, it is not that far from England, only 7,239 miles, or a 14 hour flight. The last time I was in Oahu I met more Brits than Hawaiians....NOT.

She looks like an adult XXX actress from the 80s. It would not be the first time an adult performer was used in Magnum P.I. series. She does have that look, doesn't she? R.J. Reynolds was a porn star who appeared in Don't say Goodbye (1981) and Past Tense (1982). Why is every porn actor automatical...

I'm more confused the more I read in this thread. She looks like an adult XXX actress from the 80s. It would not be the first time an adult performer was used in Magnum P.I. series.

R.J. Reynolds was a porn star who appeared in Don't say Goodbye (1981) and Past Tense (1982).

Ahh . . our Mystery Girl returns. There's a whole thread about her! Or, "Lady X" as she's been dubbed.
Thanks, I have an idea but will post it on that thread.

I did not care much for this episode when I viewed it the first time but now that I saw it again it is very good. Carol really destroys episodes for me but she is more low key and less abrasive in this episode. She does manage to nearly get Magnum killed while running red lights. You have to ask you...

"Echoes of the Mind" is one of the best episodes of the entire series, IMHO. and thinking, "this lady is going to be a star!" Ms. Stone in 1984. Wow! :) http://magnum-mania.com/images/5_2_u_full.jpg I first saw Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct (1992), shot about 8 years after this Echoes of the Mind ...

how did TSM come to the attention of Robin Masters, and subsequently be invited to stay in the Guest House on the Estate, and be used as the Security Consultant? Probably word of mouth since he had such a distinguished military background. He resigned from the Navy in disillusionment in 1979 and wa...

Watched this episode again last night on DVD. It has its moments but something about Erin Gray is abrasive and annoying. Yes, she has a beautiful face but the character she plays is deceitful and stuck up. It seems members here rave about her but I have known many women in my life who have the beaut...

It's funny you say that. Overall, I enjoy the first three seasons most, but some of the all time best episodes (voted by you, the Magnum-Mania fans!) were in season's 7 & 8 when Thomas matured. My take is what really made this series work was the humor. There are a few exceptions, the Season 7 epis...

It's a great website no doubt but activity here is very slow with only a couple of people posting. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to myself. I think when this website was first launched the hearty Magnum P.I. fans who discovered it found it to be gold. I rated every episode in this series betwee...

Never knew this until just now but you can watch many of these episodes on the IMDb. The only downside is there are commercials and you can't fast forward or avoid them.
