Re:

[quote="burny"] not hugely fascinating....but, having coincidentally watched the 2 episodes within the same few days.... the pretty brunette mag mistakes for holly fox when he initially visits the station (i think her character name is Lori) was also the dancer Kendall Chases's dressing room "roomat...

The coach was obviously based on Bear Bryant, and I wouldn't be surprised if the owner was based on Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, the only female owner in the NFL at the time. We also see a precursor to Tim Tebow in the God-fearing reserve quarterback. There is a couple of possible 'flubs': 1) When ...

The struggle between Selleck and Montana looked pretty darn real to me... I'm sure he had plenty of real-life experience. Changing the subject there's a tiny detail that irks me. On some episodes, including this one, Magnum says "Ta" to Higgins, meaning "Bye". But "Ta" means "Thanks", not "Bye". By...

When Higgins said "Sadly that's the only type of scandal we seem to have" (can't quote it true to the word) this made me laugh out loud! Even when I lived in the UK during the 1990's there were so many sex scandals in UK politics. I thought that mention of sex scandals was quite bold for an early 8...

That sneeze at Laseronics was way phoney. It just doesn't add up thhat she didn't do it on purpose. If that was supposed to be a genuine sneeze the actress is awful at her job.

A few issues with this episode: 1) The plot is flimsy. Are we supposed to believe that an adult woman posed as someone elses grand-daugher assuming a false identity just because she liked the letters she wrote? 2) Mercedes McCambridge: Her whiny voice is annoying, as is her Stevie Wonder routine. On...

I never understood what was so hilarious about Magnum working on a case involving a horse (and Higgins too, of all people). Don't they know how valuable a horse can be? When Shergar was stolen (or should I say kidnapped) it was a a big shock in Ireland. Any PI would have made a fortune out of that c...

The actor who plays the boorish patron at the club in the beginning of the episode is the same one who played the Hollywood agent just a few episodes before in Skin Deep.

How thick is Magnum? He's trying to protect a guess of Robin Master's, he finds a handbook for Robin Master's car in the apartment of the terrorist and he thinks nothing of it? :?

Sisophous wrote:I really did not like her character at all. She is terrified of dogs and very emotional with mood swings. She reminds me of the female role played in Indiana Jones films where the girl is always on an emotional roller-coaster.
You've just described pretty much every woman (fear of dogs optional).

Fantastic episode, very well written, but some things backfire in my opiinion. 1) I couldn't for a moment believe those two Mossad agents were Nazis. They hardly looked like Nazis and one of them was even called Reuben, for goodness sake! 2) Have you ever heard of a Nazi called Saul Greenberg? Sure,...

Talking about French policemen at Nice Airport at the beginning of the episode, PATHETIC uniforms. I mean seriously lousy replicas. Don't know whether to put it in the flubbs or not, but the police badges are somewhat as if you'd try to have a security agent pretend wearing a real cop's one. Agree....

If you remember, some many months back, we were discussing whether or not they had been shooting on location on the French Riviera or if they had only used some existing footage. Well, here's the outcome of my little research. This episode was aired in April 1986 for the first time. Which would mea...
