I normally don't like silly episodes too much, but I like howhere Tom Selleck gets an homage and is given the chance to finally play Indiana Jones (well, sort of). As a matter of fact I was never a big fan of the Indiana Jones saga when growing up,and I think that charisma vacuum called Harrison For...

When Higgins is in the Audi and the brakes fail This scene shows why you should always drive a manual. Had he been driving a manual he could have slowed the car down to a halt by using the gear shift. Having both circuits of the brake system fail completely, short of tampering, is extremely rare. T...

Seasons 5 and 6 - should I buy them?

I've now bought (and watched) all series except seasons 5 and 6. The consensus here seems to be that these two seasons are the nadir of the show. Should I buy them anyway? Are there enough good episodes to justify the purchase? Thanks in advanced for your opinions.

Actually I did, but how come you did?

I think this is the only episode during the whole run of the show where Magnum doesn't break the law in any way, shape or form. We should start a thread listing all his crimes and misdemeanors.

Jeffrey, I tried to watch Cheers in the 80s but I found it silly. Sam always talking about his 'action' grew tiresome very quickly. Thank you. Cheers is supposed to be some pinnacle of intelligent comedy, yet I also find its humor really silly. Now Frasier, on the other hand, is the best sitcom eve...

Well, by definition a medical drama deals constantly with life and death - it might as well be dark.

I liked it in the beginning, but it lost its freshness after the first few seasons.

I like this one. Its funny and campy. It does seem like just an excuse to get Carol Burnett back on the show and I like Rembrandt's Girl better, but this one has its moments, too. T.C's recorded narration on the chopper tour with the Rabbi is absolutely hilarious! As far as how Susan got a Ferrari,...

I loved this episode. Of course I love everything Carol Burnett and Tom Selleck do. I thought the way they made Carol over the top as a detective was really good. I loved when they met in the warehouse and she asked him if he was a "sort of good looking guy". Actually she says "average looking guy"...

I can't get over a supposedly well-adjusted woman in ther late 30s having a hissy fit after discovering, and I'm quoting here, that her father wasn't perfect.

Sorry, sweetheart, but if by the time you're a teenager you don't know that your father is not perfect you're emotionally stunted.

Another flub (or cynical omision, depending on how you want to look at it): At the parking garage, when Magnum and the girl are hiding from the mobsters behind a car and they start running towards the exit, conveniently her high heels make no sound at all, so they cannot be heard by the mobster who ...

I can't believe people missed one very obvious flub, which happens not once but twice - On the still outside th King K club, which is shown twice, the old grey Audi is parked outside the club, when it's obviously been replaced by the newer sky-blue Audi several seasons before.

As for Magnum's family tree, he clearly says she's married to his uncle. He says something to the effect that everyone in the family was shocked when proper, staid Uncle Sully married an eccentric like Phoebe. One thing that dawns on us in this episode is how carelessly Magnum makes his friends brea...
