Motel 6s are hit or miss. Mostly in my experience it's been miss. I prefer Super 8s. They're about the same price but much much nicer. They probably are. Our first room in SF was overlooking some biker spot and there was a bullet hole in the window. We asked for another room and got it. The free pa...

A very civilised discussion. I was worried at first that it might end up in a brawl and people would be thrown out of the club.
Very nice to see that it is possible to have opposing views but not get at each other's throats.

I never had any problems with Motel 6. Actually quite like the one in San Francisco as it has free parking, which is rare in SF.

Hearst Castle is amazing, but it's 200 miles from San Jose... depends on how far you can/want to drive.

*Watching* rugby isn't really *keeping fit* though! unless you work out on your cross trainer while watching.

I went with a friend from Canada and it was an organised trip with a British company who use the Himalayan Society as a partner in Nepal. It was all politically and environmentally sound. There are so many issues in Nepal you want to avoid... (protection payments to the Maoists, racism towards their...

The truth is that from the outside, the two major political parties in the US aren't that different at all. Sure, they have different approaches to certain issues, but its not as left/right as the pundits make it out to be. Realistically, on social policy the Democrats would be far too right wing t...

Thanks.

I'd love to work outdoors. So I guess, running sort of compensates for my deskbound job.

I also like hiking. My most interesting hike must have been my trek up to Mount Everest Base Camp in 2005. Took us 12 days to trek up and 3 down! ;-)

Yeah, borrowing money all the time or asking people for a favour and rarely being able to return a favour, that would really get on my nerves. Not sure, if he's always "there for you"...

With a bit of training, everybody can do it, if I can. I was a complete failure in sports in school. I was crap in ball games, athletics, gymnastics. (To this day, I cannot do a cartwheel.) Everything that had to do with physical activity. I managed to get the worst marks for sports. If I told my ol...

My best time in a half marathon is 2:13.
For the marathon 4 weeks ago I took 4:59. I slowed down considerably after about 23 miles.

Interesting, so you don't have to be fat to do sumo (<85 kgs)...
How is it different from wrestling? It is a show fight and quite choreographed too, isn't it?

In a way this picture is right, we haven't got the means these days to live without products made by corporations. But on the other hand, there is a point to the protest. I mean there are banks going bust all the time, yet the traders and other bankers are still being paid bonuses in the millions. I...

I rated this a 9. One of the best shows of the season. And I also liked the Iron Man theme. I personally have given up on the triathlon. I just cannot do the bike part. I am too scared of going fast! I just concentrate on my running. But as I have been there myself, I know what Magnum is going throu...
