I'm guessing the 1911 is airsoft or another kind of replica? I can't imagine that convention organizers would but frown on showing up with a real .45.

40 this year. Watched from the pilot through to the end. Also watched BSG, Buck Rogers, A-Team, etc. Incidentally, the average age of the posters on this thread this far, including me, is 39.97058823529412. This is the average for 34 replies I counted with ages in them (I arbitrarily assigned "42" a...

The 308 is an icon, and the Magnum connection still lives. Every so often I think about selling my Mera (THE 308 replica, built in 1988) 254 were built and only 90 remain, and it is a dead ringer for Magnum's car. Well than I read here how their still a "hot topic" or, like today a young woman stop...

Magnum T. wrote: [Sergio Pininfarina, designer of the 308, passed away last night.] I think his name was Sergio Farina, "Pinin" was kind of a nickname. According to his Wikipedia article, the original family name was Farina, later changed to Pininfarina to reflect the company name. "In 1961, by dec...

The Bentley driven by Magnum in this episode (DYM 800) was a James Bond car too: http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page/100272/1937-bentley-4-1-4-litre/ Chassis number 'B129JY' was finally tested at Gurney Nutting on July 15th 1937 and sold new via H R Owen to first owner Miss Josefin...

MSRP for a 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia: $229,825 MSRP for a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi (at the time): $40,576 That's gotta be more than the rate of inflation! It's about double the rate of inflation. $40,000 would be about $113,000 now in US dollars. Considering the level of technology packed into the car n...

The watch.

I caught it. Jesse's watch is a Rolex GMT with the Pepsi bezel. Yet another Magnum nod. However, the watch in the movie is stumping me. The watch has the Pepsi bezel, but the number font (not sure if that's the technical term) on said bezel is the new style (slightly elongated horizontally or "squas...

Rambler Rob said, "The plane model that Buck Greene toys with while expositing the plot to Magnum and Ms. Jones is a Douglas A-1 Skyraider in Marine (naturally) livery." Are you sure about that? When Buck picked it up the first thing I thought was F8 Bearcat. It's "Reb," not "Rob." But, you'...

Flub?

To be honest, I'm not sure if this is a flub or not. When the announcer guy is backshot at the beginning (with the usual incorrect " thwip, thwip " sound effects-- suppressed fire is still fairly loud, it just doesn't sound like gunshots), the slide of the pistol (looks like a Walther P-38 ) locks b...

I'd like to point out a flub, if I may. When Magnum and the nutbar are speeding away from the villa after the raid, a gate guard fires after them three consecutive times with a double-barreled shotgun. Admittedly, it could have been a drilling (a three-barreled rifle-shotgun combination gun), but th...

"International Mozambique Pattern"

A quick note on the Mozambique drill. While it does involve two shots to the torso and one to the head, they are applied in the reverse order to the one Buck uses. He takes the head shot first, then the two to the chest. The Mozambique is also called the "Failure Drill" (this is the newer, more poli...
