even I . . . .

with my love of needlework, wouldn't go this far. "Lauren Porter used 12 miles of yarn" to knit a life-size Ferrari:

Magnum Island?

From the messages posted after that "Den of Geek" article. This one cracked me up!

In my opinion, they have completely and disastrously ruined it. Look at the slideshow on Facebook of the 68 pictures. They've painted all that gorgeous wood -- or stripped it to look "distressed" (ceiling on covered lanai). AAAAGGGHHHH!!!! It breaks my heart to see what has been done to it -- totall...

MagnumsLeftShoulder, I have a women's shirt. I first bought a Small based on the Maui Shirts website measurements, but it was too small. I'm 5' 3" and weigh 110 lbs., and the medium fits me best. Based on the manufacturer's measurements, I'd say the women's sizes run slightly small. JMO based on wha...

I think "they" can't base much on the book storylines because the book Jesse Stone is so much younger than TS. The actions/activities, etc., in the books just don't work for TS' current physical capabilities/condition (he ain't Magnum any more . . . . .) The Jesse Stone in the book had personality--...

Robert B. Parker (RBP) used a lot of short sentences for Spenser and Jesse in his books, but he used it when appropriate and not for everyone (though it seemed to be that way a little more in his later books. the ones with the larger print and wider margins . . . .). It seemed that TS was trying to ...

Personally, I found it darker, drearier (do they LOOK for rainy days to film???), slower, and more depressing than any of the others. A couple of good lines, but writing was weak -- just way too much "down time" -- the entire story could have been told in one hour. And what was the point of the "fri...

What a very oddball paint job! It appears that the paint was applied exactly to the edge of the plaster's chipping and that the screens and nailed-up boards were removed and then put back after painting. Why go to such exacting trouble to paint the building and then not fix it up properly? If one re...

Has anyone actually counted the number of episodes in which the red parrot/jungle shirt was used? I know at one time I was counting the times the black version was shown (because I was able to get that one and didn't have the red one yet), and I was very surprised that it was used so often. I think ...

I watch it, but I still don't like it. Too much Danny story, and I think he's unlikeable, annoying, and off the map procedurally (for a cop). I wish they'd use the younger brother more, he's certainly more appealing and, hey, beat cops have had entire series built around their activities too (Adam 1...

Mavrick -- What good ideas!!! Hope you don't mind if I confiscate a few of them! We're going to the Bahamas for a week on Dec. 1 (where I'll be taking my Jimmy Buffett music!!), so I'll be sure to keep an eye out for things we can use to decorate the tree with such -- usually the best way to find so...

Well . . . I don't have a lot of "tropical" Christmas decorations. But I have a five-foot lighted helicopter ("Santa's Helicopter" from Lowe's) in my front Palladian window, plus the following ornaments (thus that appropriate size) on the tree: Matchbox-size Corgi Ferrari 308, a Matchbox-size MD500 ...

I tried the "Historical Imagery" in Google Earth, but it went back only to 2001 (and even then it didn't display anything, or it just didn't load for me). Other places can go back to the 1930s (e.g., Atlanta goes back to 1944), but not Oahu on Google Earth, unfortunately. Phooey!

I just "liked" the Facebook page and posted a "sample" picture of me in the jungle bird shirt at the tidal pool. So others should start posting photos too, doncha think? The more there is to "preview" now, maybe the more interest it will get?
