selleck estate

I tried and tried to find Seeleck's property. I was close but wasn't sure which parcel was his. I finally got thru the back door by the county's building permit records and found the address that way from a building permit he had applied for to improve the property. I also found it by checking the F...

PS James

Didn't this flopping incident also happen on the famous shot of Magnum wiggling his eyebrows in the opening credits (from the China Doll epsidode?) Some one posted about it here? :)

Thanks everyone! As you can tell, Sophia, I tend to notice the cars too! :) One thing I have noticed in terms of cars is how often that powder blue VW shows up in the background. It may have been the same one as Magnum's in the flashback in Dream A Little Dream? I've always wondered if it belonged s...

Thanks, James! Someday I am going to have to conquer those screen shots!! :) Two questions for anyone who may know: In what episode during the opening credits does a hot rod pass Magnum as he is driving down a city street? In what episode does Magnum question a man who is at his shop working on cust...

Re Chris Columbus, I read in an interview that TS is kind of bitter about this movie. The role was misrepresented to him and he thought it was a much larger role and he would appear in scenes with Brando. By the time he realized what a crock it all was, it was too late for him to back out so he hono...

wine cellar scene

When Higgins and Magnum are talking in the wine cellar, there is a shot of the steps behind them. Looks like the steps down into the guesthouse. I wonder if they "recycled" the stage set.

Back to James

I just watched Italian Ice yesterday and when Magnum exits the guest house and trips over Katrina on the stairs, there is another good "shot" inside the bosthouse. Same white background, same railing that appears to be a stair leading down. Perhaps the real boathouse had an interior stair so you cou...

Also on Ghost Writer, near the end when the bad guys are following magnum and company and entering the room where the real Harold Farber is frozen, the writing on the door is backwards, they flipped the film! :)

This was the first Superbowl game I ever attended but I was "working" so I didn't get to see much of the game. I was stationed in the corridor outside the Giants locker room so it was fun watching them come back in off the field after they won. They were very sober, I would have expected them to be ...

not really a flub, but...

Since James is cool, with discussion of fun things we've noticed even though they might not really be a flub.. I am always looking for stuff that changes on the stage set, mostly the guesthouse. In the pilot, there was a light fixture above the kitchen table that never appears again. Also, and I hav...

Sam

Thanks again. :) I have had this obsession about the guesthouse/boathouse as you can tell. I looked up the Anderson estate on the Honolulu Tax Assessor website and got the dimensions of the boathouse and some basic info, it is listed as a one bedroom, one bath. The "main" living area is pretty small...
