The original theme sounded more suited to Banacek than to MPI and I agree with those who say that there's overlap in deacdes. Great presence by Richard Johnson (Brigadier Ffolkes) in this, my favorite episode of S1. FYI: Johnson turned down the role of James Bond but later played Bulldog Drummond in 1967's Deadlier Than the Male, one of the best Bond-inspired movies of the 1960s.

I remember the Brett Holmes being on when I was a kid, but didn't appreciate its sophistication. I've just begun the Complete Works, which I got for Christmas. Great reading.

The wife got me Season 1 and I'm pleased at how good this show was straight away, even with the Banacek/type opening in the first ten or so episodes.

I have many favorites, especially The Persuaders!, but recently I've become obsessed with Jeremy Brett's interpretation of Sherlock Holmes.
