The original theme sounded more suited to Banacek than to MPI and I agree with those who say that there's overlap in deacdes. To me, 1980 was still the seventies, just like 1970-71 was still the sixties, culturally speaking. I'll refrain from saying that the early sixties were still the fifties, but...

How About a Jesse Stone Sub-Forum?

James, I think with the popularity of this series among we MPIphiles, that you should consider adding a Jesse Stone sub-forum.

Great presence by Richard Johnson (Brigadier Ffolkes) in this, my favorite episode of S1. FYI: Johnson turned down the role of James Bond but later played Bulldog Drummond in 1967's Deadlier Than the Male, one of the best Bond-inspired movies of the 1960s.

In 1980, I was a HUGE fan of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century which is so awful! The second season was even worse with the move to that ship and an annoying cluster of dopey characters, like that eagleheaded "Hawk." I'm so glad I discovered MPI during its second season, it gave me something to look f...

I just watched Deja Vu again and I'm wondering about Stokesy. Was he part of the assassination team? He stares back at Magnum and walks away, but what was his role supposed to be since he wasn't the real Inspector Stokesy?

What was the significance of the boy in the sailor suit?

I remember the Brett Holmes being on when I was a kid, but didn't appreciate its sophistication. I've just begun the Complete Works, which I got for Christmas. Great reading.

The wife got me Season 1 and I'm pleased at how good this show was straight away, even with the Banacek/type opening in the first ten or so episodes.

I have many favorites, especially The Persuaders!, but recently I've become obsessed with Jeremy Brett's interpretation of Sherlock Holmes.

By the way, welcome back Little Garwood!
If I knew how to do that, I would! :D

Thanks for the welcome back, James!

Forgive me for rambling, it's what I do...

I've become fascinated by this episode. When it first aired it seemed like such a big deal to me (I was thirteen) and it seemed so...exotic...that they were filming this episode in England. When I watched it last year, I became fascinated all over again. I don't know why, maybe it's the imagery, the...

I got S1 of Mannix this past August and it's really a fun show. Very 1960s, with Mike Connors constantly drinking and smoking, and those of you who are familiar with TV actors from the period, which I like to call the '54-'75 Era, will be pleased to see long-gone actors like the late, great Steve Ih...

Some personal reflections, too...

In light of the fact that Jeff MacKay has died (and on Aug 22; my birthday) I can still remember the night I saw "Mac's Back" when it first aired back in 1984. This then-thirteen-year-old waited anxiously to see how they would bring the character back. I wasn't big on resurrection storylines, having...

I guess there's always "pressure" for leading-man types to fight off the aging process lest they be relegated to character-actor status and lose the big $$$. I'm 37 and have lots of gray hair and my beard is practically all white! I like to think that wisdom comes with the gray, but of course it doe...
