A Google search brings up a lot of pizza places called Big Tony's. None of them seem to be in Hawaii at present -- but we're looking at a decades-old snapshot. Anyhow, the right-hand part of the smaller writing could say "pizza." Anybody have a Magnum -era Oahu phone book? Side note: I said "Oahu ph...

I guess the studio didn't own all that many cars, or all that many plates. (And of course they couldn't very well use a random license number, even if they didn't show the plate, because it might cause problems for the real owner.) So they were bound to repeat now and then. And in the days before DV...

Hi, lembi -- Welcome to the forum!

Please excuse my ignorance of car models, but are the cars different, or is it just the lighting?

It's been a while since I saw either episode -- whose car(s) is it / are they?

And what does that bumper sticker say?

Re: Rather (!?!!?) Contemptuous Article on Magnum PI

... all [Selleck's] made-for-TV Westerns were excellently done and critically acclaimed -- though he did have a couple of stinker movies (3 Men and a Little Lady, e.g.) ... I guess it's chacun à son goût , Golf. Hubby and I think Little Lady is just hilarious, much better than 3 Men and a Baby (whi...

in the dvd that i have he doesn't say "kill him", he tells him when he finds him to "shoot him". Thanks for the exact wording, firefly, and thanks for confirming that it's on the DVD. I believe I've heard, though, that military trainees are taught that it's hard enough to just hit a distant or movi...

Hey, I'd love that! Kinda depends on how John Hillerman votes, though. I do want to emphasize that a lot of that outline was cribbed from other people's ideas on other threads in this forum. Probably my biggest contribution is figuring out how to make Higgins a pivotal character (even if Mr. Hillerm...

Hmmm -- the Ferrari would HAVE to be there, wouldn't it? But don't ask me how it managed to survive all the neglect and mayhem!

Hi, MACattack. I wasn't very explicit about that, was I? Here's what I think happened: Zeus & Apollo died of old age (and presumably at different times), at which point Higgins of course acquired new guard dogs. (My feeling is that he named them after different Greek gods, not Zeus & Apollo.) This w...

The REAL Magnum Movie

I've been doing some daydreaming about the Magnum movie they SHOULD be making, with most of the original cast. My reveries have borrowed some details from ideas posted on other threads here, and I apologize for not sifting through those posts to see whom to credit for what. But here's the way I see ...

First, possible flub, in the beginning of the court room scene, Magnum and TC are sitting in the back of the court room waiting to give their testimony in the trial. Now I'm no attorney but ... witnesses don't sit in the back of the court room and get to hear the trial .... Witnesses are sequestere...

No the sticker was a design, symbol or something. magnum041ir.jpg to identify it, you might have to zoom in. I think in the early days they put the Inspection sticker there... Is this it (just under the brake light)? http://magnum-mania.com/images/opening_credits_original_1_full.jpg I was just abou...

It does seem strange to me that none of the times the 308 was destroyed in the show, they never updated with a 328 to replace it. But then they couldn't have aired the episodes out of shooting sequence. And of course they didn't really destroy the car, so they still had a perfectly good 308 to use ...

Are you sure? Waimea has a lot more water running off it, and the rock formation doesn't quite look the same. Judging by RC's later post, you were right, James, but depending on recent weather, the same waterfall can look quite a lot different -- more/less water, more/less rock exposed, etc. You'd ...

I hadn't run across this thread -- Hubby saw an article on the Fox News website on Monday about this movie, first either one of us had heard about it. Unfortunately, the article didn't have any updates over what had been reported in late '08 and again in late '09 . It was basically just an excuse fo...
