Re: A Great Episode! Did You Notice The Flub?

Ho could be her cousin or her uncle. I don't think there was any other mention of him, and it is more likely that Selleck screwed up memorized dialog (when he referred to Ho as her cousin) than narration, unless there was a problem with the script. I prefer to think that *Magnum* misspoke one time ...

Minor quibble with the Plot Outline: I believe that Magnum does say he's picking up his buddy at "the airport," but as we see soon after, he's not talking about Honolulu International. He drives through the security gate into either Hickam AFB or the Navy's adjoining facility (which "Ski" refers to ...

I'm trying to recall whether any previous episodes had mentioned that Magnum's middle name is Sullivan, and/or that some of his relatives are named Sullivan. I don't think so -- or it would be a bit odd that he didn't jokingly call the reporter "Cousin Kate" or something. This episode should definit...

Yes, that whole "stay right there while I dig out my gun and load it" scene was absolutely hilarious! From the episode Notes: 2 The script for this episode was written by Caroline Elias. This is her only credited work on the IMDB. IMDb also lists a hairdresser named Carolyn Elias -- who worked on Ma...

The way Magnum lets "Mad Buck" fly off into the distance and to his death reminds me of the episode "Tran Quoc Jones" and how Magnum, TC, Rick and Higgins just let Tran Quoc Jones walk away to resume his life on the street after all of their efforts to help him. Of course, we don't actually *know* ...

Yeah, me too.

But Magnum's behavior still bothers me.

And you're right, Buck referred to it as a hang-glider. I remember that because the subtitles had "hand glider." Gack!

We just watched this episode on DVD. I had no particular recollection of ever seeing it broadcast, but was really looking forward to it because Darren McGavin was such a terrific actor (I mean, Night Stalker *and* Ralphie's father -- talk about range!). But what a downer! Am I the only one here who ...

Cool, golf (and eeyore) -- I'd go see that movie for sure!

Have added more comments on the other thread.

Hey, cool, guys -- I'd go see your movie for sure! Here's my list of non-negotiables: 1. The original actors (insofar as they are willing). 2. Hawaii. 3. A good balance of humor, drama, and excitement (romance is optional). 4. A healthy sprinkling of tie-ins to the original series, including reuse o...

Not going to argue with Rubber Chicken's scenario! But I've been thinking for the past few years (since 9/11, basically) that Magnum would be involved with the Department of Homeland Security, either as a Naval officer or (if he's retired again) as a civilian. I suspect that Tom Selleck would like t...

Comment on Note 4 of the episode guide:

The elevated commuter railway in Chicago is known as the "El" (short for elevated) rather than the "L".

It's amazing that Manettis book is selling for upwards of 100 bucks.I'm tempted to go to the library and steal one...oops...Sorry rev lol I assume you guys are quoting prices from Amazon or eBay? When T.C. flies Magnum to "Kahoolawe" they're actually flying around Rabbit (Manana) Island, just off the coast of Oahu near Robin's Nest. Some of the shots are from unusual angles so that this is not obvious, and some shots are sufficiently up-close that the small size of the island is not apparent...

When Magnum & Adelaide are settling down for the night in the stable at her ranch, he prompts her to remove her glasses. She takes them off and puts them into her shirt pocket. Does this make sense to anybody? If she's going to sleep flat on her back all night, it wouldn't make any difference whethe...

It looks to me like "Ugliest Dog" isn't the only episode with outtakes behind the closing credits, after all. The first two scenes behind the closing credits of "Don't Say Goodbye" appear to be outtakes: 1. Magnum grabs at a piece of paper, but then drops it. 2. T. C. flicks water (or whatever's in ...
