Sean Connery - as one of Higgins WWII buddies: "Then there was Squidgy whom I first met a Sandhurst. I spent two months with him behind enemy lines in Borneo." (Raises eyebrows and sighs) "I've heard he went on to an Impressive if clandestine career on Her Majesty's Secret Service. Did I ever tell y...

For me it comes down to two things 1. the overall quality of the show, for reasons detailed in many other posts in this thread and others. For me its mostly the characters as portrayed by "Charming" actors, but in any case, I find that even these 20 year old epsiodes with 80s production values, that...

I think its been mentioned on other threads, But I think the reason MPI is still enjoyable to watch and holds up so well is that it really was a "perfect storm" of sorts, and I use that term deliberately since the post I vaguely remember use that term as well. I think. If I get some free time soon, ...

I couldn't sleep last night and caught most of this ep on some channel called "the CW" I'm assuming its a regular 11:30 PM EST show at least once per week or even daily. The serious no nonsense TM must have been what he was like in Vietnam and rebelled against ( and ironically returns to in resoluti...

Its just the entrance Steps, elevated kitchen, (large) living room and TMs bedroom and bathroom. Theres only two closets I can think of as well, though there may be another in bathroom. I guess its possible theres a second bedroom tucked somewhere (for Higgins in Black on White) but TM sleeps on the...

I guess I have two questions 1. Is it possible for someone to have dual citizenship in a situation like Higgins i.e unmarried, having presumably not spent much time in the US until 1960? 2. Is it reasonable the Higgins would have accepted US citizenship. I never thought about this before, I always j...

I always figured he retained British Citizenship. Ooh thats not right ... remained a British Subject. Presumably he worked for RM in other roles prior to running the estate, a sweet job if there ever was one, and RM was able to secure him a work visa. (Perhaps having won the Victoria Cross helped in...
