Re: Guest House set in pilot
Whouaa, i am learning a lot about the Lanai and the guesthouse. Panohu you're a wealth of informations ! (and relevant guessing too  ). However, i've got (again...) a question: i was always puzzled by the rather 'crude' aspect/pattern of the guest house walls (not raw wallstones, bricks but wh...

Re: Which episode is this from and is T.C. drinking beer?
Nice to have such an accurate related data !
One question (not linked to beers...but to girls ): i read in an article that Roger was renowned as some sort of "womaniser" ('coureur de jupons' in french). Is that right ?
Good to have both of you in the same thread !

Re: Three Minus Two (2.22)
I did not see that broadcast here, but, concerning USSR Five-years-plan marvelous achievements, i could just image ! Concerning weather, Dordogne is about 180 km inland. That is not so much, but we experienced in the last years wider and wider range of T°... The wheater pattern is quite semi-c...

Re: Three Minus Two (2.22)
Sounds great, Panohu, to sleep under the stars in L.A. 8) Here in Dordogne the climate could be quite changing. At the present time we have a succession of squalls and sunny wheater. The temperetarute is around 55-60 Fahrenheit. Not much for the season... Even duting summertime if you want to sleep ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the title was: Tales of the Gold Monkey ! When I was a kid we used to refer to it as Brass Monkey Balls . This sort of joke NEVER gets tired for an eight year old kid! I haven't seen a episode since its first run, but I remember it being cool. I seem to rememb...

Re: Tom Selleck's screen test for Indiana Jones
It is only an impression. I will try to express it here... I am a big fan of both actors and i would say that Harrison Ford was better suited for Indy's role, from my point of view. Yes, as a scholar, Jones is supposed to restrain his reactions and behavior and to adapt his communication to his stud...

Re:
Maybe so, but Magnum sure wasn't in any hurry to check and see if Eric survived. He just let him drown, or presumed that he was dead. I think he just wanted Laura Frazier for himself. That is totally right. This a main flaw in the realism of the script. Magnum should have, at least, checked ...

Re: Elizabeth Lindsey (Kiki) TED Talk
Good find Styles !! Well, from Magnum Pi to National Geographic Society this scholar/filmmaker (and former model) had made her way. very good example for all of us. Now for the little trivia, i would say she always had the ability to put forward the best arguements. Sorry for this one, but it was co...

Re: Magnum P.I. Filming Locations - A Rubber Chicken Guide
Another little addition concerning "Missing In Action ". Around 11:00-12:00 Laura and TM have a little meeting regarding Eric Tobin whereabouts and Vietnam war. https://ibb.co/HqMDPgK The building in the background is very distinctive. I seems to be Hale Koa hotel. https://ibb.co/z5CdVQk So, the pla...

Re: Magnum P.I. Filming Locations - A Rubber Chicken Guide
"Missing in action" again :D The final scene (where Newton shots Tobin) was a piece of puzzling for me. Here are some clues: https://ibb.co/ZKRv6VJ An old rusting towing barge... You can see Honolulu freight harbor (silos and warehouses) in the background and also Ko'olau Range mountains chain on t...

Re: Mad Buck Gibson (2.9)
By the way, here is my (humble) review of that opus: - the plot is quite minimalist, the scenarist try to imply a former wife in the story but it did not add much... - Magnum shows that he is surely a much better investigator than bodyguard ! :D - Again, Higgins supported the main effort with brilli...

Re: Good thing Magnum skipped the laugh track, but why did i
From my little piece of advice, i just can't Imagine Magnum Pi with laugh tracks in it. :? It would have probably ruined the atmosphere of the serie. My guess i that if you want in depth immersion in the drama, thrilling plot or action, you need rather an adequate background music than such a superf...

Re: Mad Buck Gibson (2.9)
Thanks 80s Big Hair, it confirms what i suspected: The french dubbing work took liberties and is sometimes quite loosy with the original script. However, Football tactics and big game might be more understanble for french ears than baseball… Concerning the timeline mix up, the scenarists probably do...
