Re: Was Higgins a US Citizen?
But did Honduras recognize the renunciation? The info I acquired from that British expat website indicated that Great Britain, at least, does not recognize her citizens' renunciations when declared to a foreign country. So you can renounce all you like but you remain a British subject until and unl...

Re: Luther Gillis: File #001 (5.10)
What ruins this episode for me is Magnum's attitude when seeing Higgins and Luther with bruises all over their faces. He should have been concerned and upset and asked them if they're OK, but instead Magnum just laughs like a hyena. This bothered me too, to be honest. He explained it by saying that...

Re: Mac's Back (5.3)
I found this a very, very well done episode, even if I disliked the Bonnig/ick character and found it super weird that Magnum went on calling him Mac...

Re: Two Birds of a Feather (3.20)
As someone who's had a pilot license since 1984 all the flying in this episode was enough to overcome the fact that it was not Magnum/Hawaii-centric. Two things: when the plane crashes into the water you can see cables that they used to drop the thing in. A well done stunt though. Second, was it ju...

Re:
Jay, you're much too kind to this episode! MPI audiences were being snookered, hoodwinked, and just plain bamboozled by this bait and switch of an episode! It remains my most-despised MPI, though I can barely even think of "Birds of a Feather" as a Magnum, P.I. episode. Cannot agree more. This is t...

Maybe so, but the guys didn't know that at the time. Just letting them sit in there was crappy.☨magnum.t wrote:If my memory serves me right were the arrests not made by a dirty cop? If that's the case no DA in his or her right mind would prosecute.

Re: Photo Play (6.21)
As someone said, as soon as Magnum talked about developing the film that Shelly had, you had to know he'd be busting into the darkroom and destroy Higgy's developing in one way or the other. One thing many darkrooms have is an outside light that can be switched on from inside the darkroom as a way ...

Re: Fragments (5.6)
It also never was explained why the newspaper's printing the wrong picture would cause Higgins to not have any acts for the benefit. I just couldn't understand how that connected. He didn't have any acts because none of the ones who showed up were any good. The fact that the paper made it sound lik...

Re: Let the Punishment Fit the Crime (4.17)
Doesn't he pretty much take over the production of everything he's into? I seem to recall every society he's a part of, he is either the head of it, on the board of directors, or the chairman of a committee. Obviously a believer in "This will not be done right unless I do it myself." Definitely, es...

Re: No More Mr. Nice Guy (4.13)
The Carol character was pretty much shoe-horned in in order to boost female ratings. You know, "strong female character", will they/will they not love interest and all that jazz. With the eye candy on this show, you don't need to shoehorn ill-fitting characters, cute kids, potential marriage etc. i...

Re: Let the Punishment Fit the Crime (4.17)
I didn't especially like Higgins being on the verge of being outright cruel to the ladies in the production. It seemed out of character for him. He told Agatha he was nervous about getting the play exactly right to impress Sir Cedric. JQH is always at his worst whenever he's nervous about something...
