Re: Thank Heaven for Little Girls and Big Ones Too (1.4)

Another thing - how the hell could Magnum not notice a huge black car pull a squealing u-turn right behind him to tail him? Yes, he was distracted, arguing with Higgins, but anybody would have looked when they heard that. They even did the u-turn on the end of the estate driveway! Magnum really blew...

Re: Thank Heaven for Little Girls and Big Ones Too (1.4)

I was always annoyed that Higgins threw away the fake Gauguin. It was a fake good enough to fool Higgins (an art expert - what isn't he expert at?), except by close comparison. It wasn't even Higgins' property to throw away. It either belonged to Robin Masters, who was shipped the fake instead of th...

Re: Letter to a Duchess (4.6)

This was a good enough episode but I just couldn't help but feel like this was a retread of season 2's "Tropical Madness" which I found to be superior. So for me this one falls somewhere between Pretty Good and Decent. Wish I enjoyed it more! And there was something about Jane Merrow's elongated fa...

I'm not trying to be insulting. I'd delete the line that offends you if I could (even though it was a completely honest, truthful statement - not meant to insult anyone) - but this forum does not allow deletion of posts that are already responded to. You can ask Conch to delete all of the posts in t...

Thank you, I will. :D

I haven't gone to the US since the 90's. It was a great country once - one of the best, but not any more.

Re: Your Favorite Christmas Movies and TV Episodes?

This year I watched "A Christmas Carol (1951)", "WKRP: Bah, Humbug", and the perennial Christmas favourite, "Aliens (1986)" - a heartwarming tale of a family of aliens who eat a bunch of colonists and learn the true meaning of Christmas: nuclear annihilation.

Re: Torah, Torah, Torah (5.21)

Am I the only one who wonders what ever became of TC’s bayou blaster chili? Magnum took it off the heat, but nobody hung around to stir it… I think that's pretty obvious - it became "Creole cement". Then T.C. and Magnum got into an argument over whose fault it was and it escalated into a fist fight...

Re: Grave Stone

https://i.imgur.com/GPmFHxQ.jpg How about "I was bloody marvellous." :D (Higgins at the end of Tropical Madness "Don't hand me that wretched understatement. I was bloody marvellous.") No, that's a bit conceited. How about "Stuff it, Scrungo!" Maybe not. :P "Knowing your station in life - that's the...

Re: All For One (1) (5.15)

My point was that there are plenty of countries besides the USA that have "freedom" and opportunities: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, most European countries.

Re: All For One (1) (5.15)

This episode is ruined by the lame action scenes and the "America freedom" nonsense with the kids. I was always annoyed by TV shows and movies where people from other countries say something like "Me want to go to America, get freedom, eat apple pie and play baseball with Mickey Mouse." - as if ther...

Re: Birdman of Budapest (3.16)

Is "Haiku Valley" the same location where they shot Jurassic Park? The scene where the dinosaurs run by the kids when they're in the open field with Sam Neill? And if so, it must not be the same "Haiku Valley" as is really in Hawaii, because that's the one with an interstate running through it and ...

Re: Birdman of Budapest (3.16)

I can understand why Higgins wouldn't be impressed with Magnum's dictionary. It was a Webster's dictionary, filled with American spellings. Not being a bloody American, Higgins would prefer the Oxford dictionary. Then again, he is a Cambridge man. Cambridge? That Sandhurst dropout? I bet he just sa...

Re: Birdman of Budapest (3.16)

Higgins : l must say, l'm impressed. Magnum : With my dictionary? Higgins : No, with your living quarters. They're actually tidy. I can understand why Higgins wouldn't be impressed with Magnum's dictionary. It was a Webster's dictionary, filled with American spellings. Not being a bloody American, ...

Re: Magoween Costumes?

I was going to dress up as T.C., but was told that was no good for some reason. So then I thought I'd go as Tanaka, but that was a problem too. Keoki and Moki were totally out. There was no way I was going to go as Carol. So I went as Herman (...the shark). Other sharks were offended by this "cultur...
