Re: Squeeze Play (4.7)

I think this is a fun episode but have a question I'm hoping someone can clear up for me. I see at least 2 scenes in this one that are also in the opening show introduction which started in season 1. How can this be? Higgins in the beginning picking up the rubber chicken when talking to Magnum abou...

Re: J. "Digger" Doyle (1.17)

Season one was definitely a case of "getting in the swing of things", but it did have a lot formed already and this episode's one of the best of the season. While there's a bit of a "spin-off" vibe with her, J. Digger as a character really seems ahead of her time in this episode and that's aged quit...

Re: Blood and Honor (6.10)

So back in the day, my dad, whose recording needs were comedies and long baseball games, opted for Betamax, which was already out of use by my childhood a few years later. :P We still have the old Beta tapes (taped from TV, and official Beta releases) and Betamax machine, though it has the downside ...

Last time I watched this recently, I laughed when Magnum first sees Bergos, who, with his sunglasses and bald head, bears an unfortunate resemblance to Paul Shaffer.

Edit: Exhibit A :P

Re: On the Fly (7.15)

There was talk on here earlier, I believe, about this script originally being intended as a Rockford episode, with Rockford for Magnum, Angel for Jim Bonnick, etc. so I can definitely imagine Rockford eating said sandwich in that situation more than Magnum, but it's still pretty funny.

Re: Six Degrees of Magnum P.I. (Game)

Betty Bacall was in both HealtH and My Fellow Americans with James Garner , who was of course Rockford, but I'll go a different route... Betty was in Murder on the Orient Express with Michael York, who was in Something for Everyone (a.k.a. Black Flowers for the Bride ) with J.B. herself, Angela Lan...

Re: Magnum on Blu Ray!

"Filler material?" Good grief. That "filler material" must be all the depth that makes Magnum so incredible. This reviewer must be a big fan of the recent Transformers movies. Perhaps those are his gold standards? Sucks about the later seasons though. I understand crossover-wise how they woul...

Bruce Lee was in Marlowe with James Garner, who of course was Jim Rockford alongside Tom Selleck as Lance White. :)

Oo, how about Sam Neill? :D

Re: Six Degrees of Magnum P.I. (Game)

Adam West guest-starred in the Murder, She Wrote episode "Death Takes a Dive" with Ernest Borgnine, who played Earl Gianelli in "Mr. White Death".
(And in case you were wondering, Adam's character does indeed get offed (offscreen). :P )

Next: Patrick Stewart :)

Re: Six Degrees of Magnum P.I. (Game)

Charlie Hunnam of course was in Sons of Anarchy with Katey Sagal , who was in the short-lived Mary with the late Mary Tyler Moore , whose short-lived variety show featured Michael Keaton , who starred in Mr. Mom with Martin Mull , who starred in Clue with Eileen Brennan , who played Brenda Babcock ...

Re: Adelaide (1.14)

So watching it again, we do see Norman chase Charles out of the stable. Nowadays, if a scene like this happened, we'd have heard Norman make sounds and see more evidence of a trampling, but neither happens in this case. Magnum indeed just finds Charles on the ground outside the stable looking surpri...

Re: Thank Heaven for Little Girls and Big Ones Too (1.4)

So this is the first time I've seen this again in about four years. :P Anyone else borderline cringe at Rick's Chinese laundry impression a few minutes in? :P The 80s seemed to be the last era where stuff like that was perfectly acceptable. (New Charlie Chan and Fu Manchu movies also came out around...

Re: Squeeze Play (4.7)

What's funny to me in the opening scene is that Taphie saying "Five years of high school for nothing." is supposed to denote an airhead personality, but technically the joke only works in places where there are middle/junior high schools with grades going to 6-9, etc.. In places without them, high s...

Re: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

2) Apparently "Conga" was the only Latin song in 1988 since they played it like 4 times throughout the episode. Conga playing throughout has always mystified me, come on now, there had to be a couple other songs they could have put in there! Agreed. I know that song was a huge crossover hit a...

Re: Adelaide (1.14)

I watched this one again last night and I totally agree that Normal trampled Uncle Charles, especially with TM saying "it's not your fault, it's not your fault at all!" But I will say it really didn't make it very clear and I had to watch that part twice to figure out what happened. Exactly. That's...
