Re: Magnum on Blu Ray!
I've said this in the DVD image quality thread, but I really do hope the cuts made to the DVDs (of parts that were even intact in syndication) are restored for this release. Especially since I imagine the original negatives are being used for this transfer. Also I've literally never seen the abridge...

Re: Never Again ... Never Again (1.7)
The plot twist was pretty huge to throw at the viewer this early in the series. I personally thought Lena was going to try and kill Magnum (two of the men she killed were about his size anyway), so the gunshot to me makes far more sense than a suicide (at this point, she'd have nothing to lose). I a...

Re: Poor colour/contrast on DVDs
Neat! I think it's fantastic we'll be seeing a BR transfer in the future. I sincerely hope we'll see some of the cuts made to the DVDs restored as well ("L.A.", "The Man From Marseilles", "Resolutions", etc.).

I also was annoyed at the Joe character. He was so overly abusive towards his fiancé verbally that I found him less likeable than the mafia guy. That I think was intentional as well. After all, the last thing Bergos (a dangerous mobster) would want to do is be boorish and attract unwanted attention...

Re: Kiss of the Sabre (5.11)
I don't hate this episode (much easier for me to tolerate than Faraday in "Photo Play"), but while the novel sequences had some funny moments, I think they've been done better in other episodes. (Though Higgins actually being Magnum's butler in these is hilarious alone). Also, I'm not sure if Betty ...

This episode is memorable to me for a couple of reasons, but one in particular. When Magnum finally happens upon the actress and he's explaining what is going on, they use the word "lover" over and over again. I don't remember the exact dialogue, but it's absolutely hilarious. I always wanted to ma...

Cha Cha DiGregorio! I knew I recognized her from somewhere! http://magnum-mania.com/images/7_15_u_full.jpg I read another user here said she looked ashen and grey in these scenes this episode. I know that's also the case for other darker-lit scenes this latter part of the show ("A Girl Named Sue" h...

Here's the first scene with Higgins' plane. Shame someone didn't upload the end scene with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDv5kizY8oE Remedied with an upload of mine ;) https://vimeo.com/168136762 Think I found an audio flub too. When Magnum is disturbed again by the plane and waves through the...

Re: Luther Gillis: File #521 (4.2)
Rewatching this, I replied "Against bullets?" to Agatha's line literally a second before Magnum did :P Agatha obviously didn't intend to mean that scenario, but it's still hilarious. As are Luther and that poor old woman. It was a definite split-second reaction, but for obvious reasons you'll ...

I still think a Susan Johnson/Luther Gillis episode would have been comedy gold. Imagine "A Girl Named Sue" if CB had become a protege of Luther Gillis. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!! KingKC Jesus, that IS a great idea! I should note that the Rockford Files episode "Nice Guys Finish Dead" shares much in co...

I realize a good number of people feel this way about the ep itself, but:
An underrated aside from Magnum.

It would be fascinating to see how they'd play off each other, though I know for sure they'd make Magnum's head spin!marlboro wrote:I still think a Susan Johnson/Luther Gillis episode would have been comedy gold. Imagine "A Girl Named Sue" if CB had become a protege of Luther Gillis.
