Re:
The one question I always had about this episode is where Magnum goes into the bar (Last Rivet, I think) looking for Jerome/Killer/Bad Friday and gets trampled by the construction workers rushing out of the bar, an older retired man sitting at a bar wearing a construction outfit including hardhat t...

Re: Distant Relative (4.4)
So from my understanding, Wendy was indeed a mule making a delivery to the two guys, but arrived to see them killing the two other undercover federal agents, so the two guys had to kill her to cover their tracks. It does lend credence to Magnum's saying about the lie having a bit of truth to it. I a...

Re: On the Fly (7.15)
I think many otherwise-attractive women looked worse during the 1980s than they did before or even many years after that decade--and it only got worse the deeper into the '80s one got. The big hair, squared, large-shouldered, form-obscuring outfits so popular in the second half of that decade did v...

Re: A Little Bit of Luck, A Little Bit of Grief (6.20)
This was an okay episode. Rick did seem gullible as hell, as literally the second time we see him and Jeannie they're engaged. And Magnum and T.C. spend about half their screentime in jail. :P Was that the lawyer guy coming up the stairs to the plane near the end as well? Did someone actually bail h...

One might think that Magnum -- who was already nearly certain that "Elmo" was actually Higgins -- would have been absolutely positive the whole thing was a hoax when he saw Agatha Chumley pretending to be Sylvia the front-desk clerk! LOL! Full disclosure: I've come back to this particular th...

Re:
With all the Magnum references in Family Guy , I was really expecting either Brian or Stewie to saying something like, "Hey, didn't this happen in a Magnum P.I. episode with Tom Selleck and Carol Burnett?" Sadly, they never did! Carol sued Family Guy in 2009, so I don't think they'd risk mentioning...

Re: Poor colour/contrast on DVDs
I've been watching the Encore HD episodes on a Samsung UN55KS8000 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD TV. It is amazing. At times it feels like your standing in the scene. The Jack Lord Hawaii 5-O remastered in HD looks great also. It's like watching new shows all over again. I'm jealous! All I ever got of Magnum ...

Anyone else remember Pat Corley (Dennis MacKenzie) from the Fresno miniseries? Of course in that, he was the actual landowner who didn't want to give his land up.

Yes, the mustache! I think this is the only time too that the parallel between Rick and Higgins' heights is drawn.Gordon Katsumoto wrote:Special mention for Rick's disguise!

Re: Poor colour/contrast on DVDs
I don't know if it's being broadcast in HD but it is available for streaming via Encore in HD and it looks AMAZING, just worlds better than the DVD release. The best frame of reference I can think to give is that it looks as good as the HD version of The Rockford Files does when streamed over Netfl...

Re: Murder, She Wrote - Magnum on Ice
So from what I remember from this episode, I like how Magnum got the killer in Jessica's book wrong, even if he's pretty sidelined and clearly written by MSW writers and not Magnum writers, but at least it was in character for him. For those wondering, the syndicated version is on the MSW season thr...

Re: Photo Play (6.21)
When Higgins says to Magnum "For the last time, go!" when he's pouring tea, the word "go" doesn't seem to match his lips. It looks more like he's saying "stop" or even "leave".

Now it's been a while since I've seen this episode, and I'm not American so I don't know how or where this would vary, but wouldn't the robbers also be charged with felony murder, since the store owner would've never had to try and shoot had they not been there? Genuinely stumped on this.

Re: Favorite scene and favorite episode
In the Curse of the King Kamehameha Club the ending scene where Moki (?) looks at the camera and a red glint forms in his eye signifying Kahunas do exist was also memorable. I will probably change my mind about all of these tomorrow but what the heck! LOL I'm surprised they didn't bring Charlie bac...
