Re: A New Reboot

It looks like I picked a wonderful day to see how things are going on Magnum Mania! Sorry for the long absence, but family commitments, and the injuries that retired me have been my primary concern. As to the thoughts of a Magnum PI reboot, having CBS pick up the torch, is better than ABC trying to ...

Re: Milton "The Ripper" Collins

Conch: I was watching the same episode, Death and Taxes, this month too! That is one of the nice things about having the series on Bluray! But, back to Milton Collins, my wife and I asked the same question. As was previously discussed, Collins could have been one of the numerous "Back Benchers", in ...

Re: Magnum on Blu Ray!

Yes, I tried it in both my Zone A players. Each had the same message saying the Zone A player and Zone B disc were incompatible. Fortunately/unfortunately, my daughter's Blu-ray just bit the dust, and one of my players has a new home. BTW, my daughter just started reading the Magnum Mania forums thi...

Re: Magnum on Blu Ray!

The complete series of Magnum on Blu-ray was delivered last week. It is a ZONE B Blu-ray. Having only ZONE A players, I made another purchase for a Sony Blu-ray player capable of all regions ( A, B, C ), an all DVD regions. Thank you Bombay Electronics. Now to the quality of the Blu-ray images. The ...

Re: The Pilgrimage ..... it's happening

Conch:

Incredible photos, with excellent attention to detail!! It might have taken you some time to make the pilgrimage, but you certainly did it right! And, I must say, that you obviously married well, as your wife went far beyond what most spouses would. :D

Re: The Pilgrimage ..... it's happening

Conch; The Valley of the Temples is incredible! I don't think I've found a more peaceful place on Oahu. The Temple is at the end of a "canyon", and it seems the noise of modern life doesn't get back to the Temple. Make sure you have your camera, as the imagery can't be described with words. Also, th...

Re: Magnum's coffee maker

According to a Navy LT. CDR I used to work with, he said the pinch of salt was to enhance the flavor of the coffee. He said it was a common method for the Navy. I can't attest to that statement, but he did brew a very good cup of coffee. It certainly was much better than the stuff delivered out to t...

Re: The Pilgrimage ..... it's happening

Conch: I didn't finish my thoughts about where to eat near the Aulani. The Ko'Olina http://koolina.com/experiences/dining/ has more than several eateries to try that are several restaurants that are anywhere from excellent to not so good. Roy's has an excellent restaurant a reasonable walk from the ...

Re: Talk to which one of the Big 4?

For me it would certainly be Higgins. I too have found the "Higgins" stories entertaining, and reminiscent of many of the World War Two and Korea veterans, I had an opportunity to speak with. There is a great military tradition of both written and oral stories, where so much of history is imparted f...

Re: My Lawsuit for MAGNUM Sequel with Lily

TM Jr.: The passage of time should lead to wisdom, not just to age. I too, often wore my passions on my sleeve, but as time has passed, I have let common sense rule the day. Despite your passion for the series and Magnum Mania, as you don't own the site, you would have no legal standing in the issue...

As to your on Island itinerary, if you wish to see the Pearl Harbor Memorial https://pearlharboroahu.com/ there is a discount for military and veterans. Proof of serv...

Re: Thomas Magnum's Gun - Some Documentation

MaximRecoil: Back in town, having suffered the better part of a week trout fishing. One must have one's priorities. I took a brief moment for a distraction of clearing gear, to take a quick look at the subject matter. You are absolutely correct in your statements concerning lowered and flared ejecti...

Re: Thomas Magnum's Gun - Some Documentation

MaximRecoil: I have to be out of town for a few days, but when I return, I'll open the safe and compare and contrast between a few of the 1911s I have. Of the several I own, I own Colts in both 9mm and .45 ACP. I'm really looking forward to checking out the differences between the two. Returning to ...
