Re: Older Detective Shows

I've been enjoying Mannix on DVD. Lots of action. The set decoration is a little hokey in season one. Dull with lots of the colors that nauseated me as a kid, green, gold, and orange. On the plus side, I caught Neil Diamond in a cameo which was pretty funny. And "Oh my God!" I LOVE this car... http:...

Re: What episode is it?!?

Sounds vaguely like an episode of the original Five-0..."Is this any way to run a paradise?" (season 4 episode 13)
The villain runs out into a cane field and commits suicide by setting it on fire instead of surrendering.

I think Sinatra, Borgnine, Sylvia Sidney, Angela Lansbury, and Elisha Cook Jr. provide a pathway to link just about anyone from the classic era to MPI!

Keeping with the classic-era theme....

Re: TV series finales

Aside from Magnum (of course), my favorite finales were Newhart and Star Trek: The Next Generation. (Ok, call me a dork.) The three Enterprises converging at once was way cool. IMHO, the MASH finale didn't live up to the hype and some of the storylines were dumb. The actors were showing their age an...

Re: If Magnum PI was produced in the 1940’s….

Mrs. Higgins, I think your thread here is great and your suggestions of Noah or his brother Wallace as Floyd Lewellen is spot on. But I don't think this episode is worthy of your attention. It's so bad that I can recall watching it for the first time on CBS 30 years ago and thinking, 'what is this ...
