Just re-watched this and it's nice to see it in the Top 40, since it's one of my fav 'lesser' episodes, though that's probably an unfair descriptor.

As many folks have pointed out, some cool first appearances here, especially Tanaka. Loved Higgins gleaning that info re: the wine cellar

This would be tops if it's still being written - would love to hear about the Magnum time-period of course, but also the Jesse Stone era.

I would recommend Six Paintings, One Frame and The Cat Who Cried Wolf from the first part of the season . From the second part of the season I would go with Ties That Bind and Blood In The Water . Excellent, thank you! If I start to struggle with the show I'll jump to those, great, thanks again :)

I could buy the last scene of the trailer being another 'fantasy' sequence from one of Robin's books - that'd actually work okay. But again, it's sad that the Surrogate Father-Son/Mentor-Tormentor relationship between Magnum and Higgins can't happen now and that it'll be a 'will they/won't they' sex...

Damn. Without the Magnum/Higgins surrogate Father/Son tension - and more importantly, developing mutual respect - the series just side-stepped so much of the heart.
