Re: How old is the average Magnum Maniac?

Seeing as this thread started 7 years ago, does anybody else think it should be redone? The biggest group is the 41-50 range, but now seven years later it must certainly be the 51-60 range.

Re: Larry Manetti is Icepick

I wish he would have declined. His being in the show would seem to give it some legitimacy before it has been earned (and I don't think it ever will be).

Re: How do you get your Magnum fix?

J.J. Walters Disregarding all the fake crap that is out there, I guess I would have to say Howard's Pub on Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. That's real people down there! And that little island is indeed "Paradise"! When I was a kid my family used to vacation close there, in Ha...

They show "yunz" too
Come to think of it, I guess it does come out with a "z" sound (I haven't used it in a long time, I've been living out west for the last 16 years). I still would spell it "yuns" though. It looks better with an "s" than a "z." :)

Re: The Live Music Tread!

I like this song by the Bay City Rollers best, has more of a (real) rock beat to it. (This is definitely live; sounds like the guitarist really screwed up bad at the 1:27 mark.)

If J.Q. Higgins were a real person I bet he'd say:

 "I say Magnum, I'm a bit surprised by all the negative reviews."

Re: The Live Music Tread!

Not your usual Scorpions song. Sound quality isn't that great, though.

Nobody is going to bring up the Pittsburgh equivalent "yinz" as in "you ones" as opposed to "you all"
I grew up close to Pittsburgh and we pronounced/spelled it "yuns" (I didn't use a "z" sound, can't recall anybody else using it).

Re: The Live Music Tread!

Mickey Jones played construction guy Pete Bilker on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, mostly if not all in the "Tool Time" scenes. He also was on Flo, the Alice spin-off, as well as being in the movie National Lampoon's Vacation. He was also in the miniseries "V" as well as the weekly show. (Remember...

Re: The Live Music Tread!

Link Wray: Rumble. This song was banned on quite a few radio stations back in the 50s. The earliest song that I know of that uses distorted power chords, originally released in '58! He influenced a lot of the good guitarists of the late 60s and 70s.

Re: Being a WW2 vet, would Higgins really drive an Audi?

[offtopic] First off, I am not a Patton apologist, and this was the first time I ever heard of this. But you're still wrong about one point. According to both Patton's and Jean Gordon's Wikipedia site, it was a niece by marriage on Patton's wife's side (yes I know that Wikipedia is not exactly a cre...

Re: Being a WW2 vet, would Higgins really drive an Audi?

Re. Patton: The affair was alleged (never confirmed), and it was said to have been with a niece by marriage, just to be clear since both those points weren't mentioned.
