Re: The Trailer
I would like to feel excited after watching the trailer, but I can't help but feel crestfallen. I just cannot overcome the decision to turn Higgins into a hottie. These new Magnum creators seem to have pitched all the old camaraderie between Magnum and Higgins for cheap thrills and splash, which is ...

Couldn't help but imagine a couple of good dogs roaming around those grounds.

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Such sad news. But I thought I would post this little something, maybe to underline how that estate impacted kids like me who grew up in the eighties and remember watching Magnum PI during its prime. A good friend of mine who cultivates a pretty large Facebook group of pals not too long ago posted a...

Re: Magnum P.C.
Well, I suppose CBS has picked its new Magnum. I don't think I could be more let down. Here is the link: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/cbs-picks-new-magnum-pi-1086625 I cringe when people start tossing the "politically correct" bomb around. I hate when people use that term to describe ...

Re: I'm a little sad...
I get a first little dose of this melancholy whenever I finish season three of the show. To me, those first three seasons are Magnum at the show's very best. I love the seasons that follow, but because I enjoy the first three seasons so much, I can't help but think a little bit about the end when Fa...

Re: Best Higgins-centric episode?
Love this thread. It's an easy pic for me. I just love "Holmes Is Where the Heart Is." I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan to begin with, so the spin for this episode really gets me. But I think this story is just another clever one. The conflict Higgins faces between duty and friendship seen in this episode ...

Re: RIP John Hillerman
My thoughts repeatedly return to Mr. Hillerman since hearing the news of his passing yesterday afternoon. Like all of us, I'm not a stranger to bad news and to loss. Yet learning of an actor's passing, of the loss of a man I didn't know at all, still got to me. I've been walking a little more slowly...

Re: A New Reboot
Oh, I soooo want to feel excited about this, but I'm already feeling suspicious about the show. I like what Conch says concerning the "Juliet Higgins" pitch. Old Jonathan Quayle Higgins was really so central to the original Magnum, to me anyway. That character continues to pull me back, and back, an...

Re: Fictional Detective Team-Up!
I think I'd like to see Murder, She Wrote's Jessica Fletcher paired up with Theo Kojak. Theo could show Jessica all the best, shadiest parts of the Big Apple, while Jessica could remind Theo to keep his cool and take it easy on the guys back in the precinct. Have a feeling that the interactions betw...

Re: Creating a Magnum PI Chopper Mission in Flight simulator
This sounds like a challenging, but wonderful, project. So I would like to just express some encouragement to keep at it. I don't think I will be the only fan around here to go bonkers for your flight mission, so keep us posted. Just so, so cool!

Re: Why do you love Magnum, P.I.? What drew you to it?
MagnumFan's comments hit on an aspect of the show I think about a good bit while I enjoy the episodes. The final episode still sits with me a little wrong even after I've watched it several times now. I can understand why Magnum would choose to return to the Navy. And I understand what kind of chara...

Re: Why do you love Magnum, P.I.? What drew you to it?
I love what MHTR points out about Magnum looking back so often to an earlier time. I often think while watching Magnum that the show, though set in 1980s Hawaii, feels more like Indiana Jones than any other television show, or even movie. I often wonder why I have that sentiment. It's something more...

Re: Milton "The Ripper" Collins
I like to think that this episode might've opened another chapter of Magnum stories had the show continued for a little longer, suggesting that there was a lot more to relate concerning Magnum's days in Naval intelligence - I don't know, like there was some kind of "SPECTRE" organization of dope pus...
