Don't feel bad, guys. I also noticed the similarity, and even a hint of what sounds like (to my ear)..."Roll On, Mississippi"!!

I loved that goodbye wave that he gave to Lily. Magnum was a little too morose in the first half of the episode, and it was great to finally see the Thomas Magnum we all know and love reappear. Still, it makes you wonder about those 8 years that Magnum was a private investigator. For some reason the...

Two things make this episode noteworthy for me. The first is Magnum's newfound respect for all living things- a change triggered by his near death experience. The second is Higgins' reaction at the end, when Joe callously begins talking about Higgins' role at the estate. It appears to be a rare inst...

This reminds me of something I forgot to mention in the Resolutions thread: The episode includes a terrific fight scene in a strip club. And in it, Higgins gets to go all out with his "Hi Ya"s!!!

I agree about the grandfather. It's a clever idea, but it's also a little strange to try and introduce him in the final episode. The other problem is that, while he may have faults, we already think of Magnum as a pretty good guy. He's extremely loyal to his friends, and hasn't had any trouble stayi...

This first half pales in comparison to the second, mainly because so much time is spent on minor characters. It's good to see Magnum reconnecting at home, but it's also hard to really care. Tidewater would've benefited from a little more screentime in season 7. It's telling that we're not even given...

I think this is the superior half of the finale, mainly because the Lily subplot is the most satisfying one they resolve. When he is finally reunited with her, it's a very moving scene. It's the type of emotional connection that the Tidewater scenes are missing, since the audience has such little in...

I wonder what it was about Linda Lee Ellison that made the writers want to make her the focal point of "resolutions"? Even Cynthia from "L.A." would have made more sense.... Yeah, it was a little strange to see her return, especially since that subplot didn't really go anywhere. But I guess they fe...

Season 8 really pushed the "Higgins is Robin" theory, and having it backfire on everyone is an interesting twist. I'm not really sure why Luther Gillis was included, though. He seems even more out of place than usual, especially since it's the show's last 'regular' episode. I wonder if he was simply...

HOW can Quang Ki do a video from jail bragging about his henchmen's handiwork? I'm sure they have something like GUARDS making sure things like that don't go down. He demonstrated a great ability to be above the law, so I guess we could assume he found a way to do it (ie. paying off guards). You co...

This one really feels out of place, coming on the heels of one the series' most dramatic (and best) episodes. Even so, it's also one of the more enjoyable of Magnum's few attempts to act "mature". I love the enthusiasm he has for what is obviously a foolhardy scheme, and the fact that it relies heav...

- This has been bothering me ever since I watched this episode again. What is the song that Magnum is whistling towards the beginning?? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't place it! I'm pretty sure this is derived from the Joe Cocker song at the end, or at least, that's what I always tho...

What I think is that Universal, rather than put on the syndicated version of "Limbo" recut the syndicated part(s) w/ Quang Ki INTO "Infinity and Jelly Doughnuts" to create one seamless episode. Interesting thought, but I'd be really surprised if Universal went to that much trouble for this release-...

Despite the earlier press release, Limbo was not included as a bonus episode for Season 8. I'm not really sure why, since they still had room for one more episode. (There are four episodes on the first disc, and five on each remaining disc.) I videotaped the original broadcast, so that's the only ve...
