I am hoping MeTV gets the Magnum reruns, they even leave in the infamous nude painting scenes in an episode of the Flintstones.
Hallmark would have had a fit and deep sixed the entire episode.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to come across as though you weren't paying attention, just that it was clearly explained so there was no question. Apologies if I came across as harsh.

Wouldn’t that beer have been awful warm by the time TM cracks that one open while stalking, er, watching Linda Lee on the beach? He had them in a canvas satchel, not much insulation there in the Hawaiian heat.

Rutledal wrote:In "Resolutions part 2" you noted that shots of an exposed breast can be seen twice. I'm not a hundred percent sure, because the image quality was kinda poor, but I believe that is the case in this episode too. Except it's only one shot.
When they first enter the strip club there is a shot of a big breasted dancer with a clear tan line, just making sure you know which one I'm talking about, then there is a shot of the guys and then we return to the dancer, who in this shot pulls down her bra, or top, I'm not completly sure if it actually qualifies as a bra. Well anyways I'm fairly sure that she reveals enough of her breast for it to be a "no-no" on a syndicated show.
Rutledal, I looked at the bar scene several times. The, ah, well-endowed exotic dancer never reveals her breasts, at least not the parts that are not allowed to be seen on television.
I hate to disagree with you, dear Founder, and you are technically correct when viewed at full speed, but clearly, the producers (and CBS censors) weren’t thinking far enough ahead in terms of what technology would be capable of in the future. I watched it frame-by-frame several times (for academic purposes only, I assure you) and there is definitely enough nipple revelation to make Elaine Benes cringe. I suppose it’s silly of me in an era when any 12 year old can get all the porn they want on their cell phone, but I won’t post the pictures here, just the links, so only my fellow deviants can see what modern tech hath revealed:

Also, even in real time, I think there’s a healthy sliver of nipple on the left breast after she covers the right one back up:

But enough of this imprudence...perhaps the producers were just hearkening back to From Moscow to Maui and trying to fix Yuri’s problem. You will remember how he stated his vehement opposition to impotence….

Good point and... ahem... sharp eye, EnsHealy ! Maybe i am all wrong with viewing frame by frame the MPI moments just to undiscover new obscure filming locations... I should try for revealed background nipples for a flip of second...

... I liked the quite cooky smile of the guy in the back...

Magnum told Lee he found her earring "last night" when they have coffee together. But after the night with Rick and T.C. where he lost his 2-dollar-bill (day 1)we saw him following Lee, doing the surf ski race, watching her again and so on(day 2), and then he woke up 7.00 a.m. cause Higgins turn on the music in his livingroom (day 3) and it was then when he meet her again in Chinatown and had coffee with her. Am I wrong or they?? :?
I was confused by this also, but assumed that Magnum fell asleep during the day 'cause maybe he was up all night?
There is definitely a continuity problem with the timing, as Magnum didn't fall asleep during the day. When he comes out of the bedroom in his robe, he chides Higgins for playing his records at 7:00 a.m., which would be 7:00 a.m. the day after he visited Han to discuss the wolf, had the surf ski race and stalked Linda Lee from off shore while quaffing a Coops. Therefore it could not have been "last night" when he found Linda Lee's earring, as he states later that day while they are having coffee.

EPISODE: 7.17 Forty

Famous guest stars:
Hawaiian shirts: 1
Image
Tigers Cap: 1
Image
Island Hopper shirts:
Shirtless Magnum:
OMG:
Higgins Organizations:
Higgins musings:
Negotiations:
Gun Play: 1
Bullet wounds:
Body Count (by Magnum): .5 I gave a half point only since it’s not clear he’s mortally wounded (which in Magnum at least means hitting the ground and lying still)
Little Voice:
I know what you’re thinking: 2
When I write HTBAWCPI: .5 for description of technique but not mention of the book
Investigator corrections:
4th wall breaks:
Magnumometer: 6
Magnumometer Moments: https://vimeo.com/705087238

Personally, I would have preferred Tim Robbins’ version of Try A Little Tenderness. I find it much better when they get wooly instead of weary.

This episode has lots of close-ups of Magnum. It’s like they’re trying to give us some good looks because they know the end (was supposed to be) coming.

She didn’t bother me as much this viewing, but I still can’t get the thought out of my mind that Linda Lee Ellison sort of ruins the end of Magnum. If this had been her only appearance, I probably wouldn’t feel that way, but I’ve always hated her re-appearance in Resolutions, and obviously that seed is planted here.

When Linda Lee asks Thomas if he’s married, and there’s a REALLY long pause and a shifty eyed look to the side…a pretty hefty majority of (single?) women are running the other way when they see that. Classic lying signals!! Of course, we know the underlying reason for it, but she does not.

Wouldn’t that beer have been awful warm by the time TM cracks it open while stalking watching Linda Lee on the beach? He had them in a canvas satchel, not much insulation there in the Hawaiian heat.

It’s funny, in mid-episode, Higgins tells Thomas that his mother called twice and explicitly says “If you're planning on returning your mother's call, please show her the courtesy of remembering the time difference in Tidewater!” And then what does he do? He calls her when it has to be after midnight in Virginia!

If anyone ever sees a copy of Zen Infield by Catfoot Blevens, pick it up for me. I’ll pay for shipping!

Eric Daniels (Heal Thyself)…Jeff Spangler (Death and Taxes) and now Linda Lee…the writers did enjoy making the press look bad. Easy target, I guess.

I couldn’t help but think, has Thomas forgotten all about Dana Delany coming to town in just two episodes as he chases this silly young thing across town like some lost puppy? Granted, the Cynthia Farrell character isn’t really a good match for Thomas, but still, it’s like he’s forgotten she exists.

And last but not least…another “he wouldn’t trust her, she wouldn’t trust him” ending. This is at least the third, after Texas Lightning and Little Games.

Wow, I haven’t had that much to say about an episode in a long time! And I even gave it an 8.5 Very Good. Imagine what I’d have had to say if I didn’t like it.

You are one funny dude, Gorilla Mask. I assume. Magnum Mania seems to attract more men than women, so if you are a woman I apologize.
Actually there are many people here whom I have no idea what sex they are. In any event it would be good to have more women fans here
expressing their points of views.

Hello Dobie,
